It’s July, and the RUSSH team has been spending a little too much time online. Blame the weather, or the comfort of planning a wardrobe from under a blanket. Between late-night scrolls and early-morning add-to-carts, we’ve been leaning into practical pieces, small comforts, and the occasional unnecessary want (it happens). From magnesium powders to oversized knits, here’s what’s caught our eye this month.

I have been browsing the VIKTORIA & WOODS end of season sale non stop – for my girls and boys out there looking for Viktoria with value, they currently have up to 50% off. Favourites in my cart are the Crossroads Blazer and Brooklyn Trouser for a matching moment but also the Galactic Puffer Vest in their deep red Sangria colour. Send me straight to space (with Katy) and don’t forget the sangria.
I have been on a magnesium train lately and I’ll be staying onboard until further notice because I fell asleep. In all seriousness, the JSHealth Advanced Magnesium+ Powder works wonders for me. I’ve never been a great sleeper which has been a health concern of mine for some time, so I’m glad I tried it. It also actually tastes good.
If you are someone who loves cool independent fashion brands like me, then you know PAVE. I love their Merino Polo. Chic and an everyday essential – the merino wool does wonders layered under a cardigan or trench this season. I have their Cotton Cashmere Sweater in Navy on my wishlist, which I hope to pick up asap.
I’d love a classic pair of loafers as I do not own a pair (the madness). These Brixton loafers black leather from Jo Mercer look perfect, so they are in my cart as I type.
Lastly, I was recently introduced to my first Le Tanneur bag and I will never go back. The small Pia shoulder bag in Brown Tan, to be exact. It’s a must-have everyday bag that has a bit of je ne sais quoi in its hardware and strap options.

I’m still following my ‘elevated essentials’ ethos, an intention I set at the beginning of this year to not buy frivolous things (a sometimes-bad habit of mine). This month I’m looking to upgrade my hairdryer to something a little more modern. I’ve been eyeing off the GHD Hair Dryer Brush and Shark FlexStyle as some options. Fashion-wise I had to (very sadly) replace my OG knee-high black boots who had seen their last days after many resoles and zipper fixes. Luckily I found a great, soft and super comfortable pair in these Easy Steps Alastair Boots at Myer (which are also nearly $100 off right now!!). And lastly I have my eye on the latest UNIQLO x JW Anderson drop – particularly this Drawstring Shirt. This is a perfect basic to add to my work rotation. In the beauty dept, I’m keen to replace my new favourite cleanser: the 111Skin Cleansing Oil (sheer perfection!), and have been powering through a Maison Louis Marie candle in the scent: No.04 Bois de Balincourt. It’s the perfect, light, wintery scent that doesn’t take over.

I’m not going to Europe (or anywhere warm) for the foreseeable future, but my shopping list hasn’t got the memo. I’m hyperfixating on the Henri blouse by Doen, in the most beautiful sheer lace fabrication. I’ve also been lusting after their Melanie Skirt for quite some time now. Slightly more practical, the colours in this oversized knit by Bassike really do something for me. I’ve also been looking to update my denim collection with a darker wash, and I think this pair by Cos might fit the brief. I might need this Merino quarter zip by P Johnson to go with them. I also recently got my hands on a pair of ASICS collaboration with Cecile Bahnsen, and I basically haven’t taken them off since. Rounding it all out, I recently discovered the brand Rue Sophie, and while I am obsessed with just about everything, this black coat with an inbuilt scarf is SO perfect.
And lastly, beauty. I’ve been testing out new skin tints recently, and I’m keen to try Merit’s tinted SPF next. I have my eye on a few of Refy Beauty’s lip crayons, too…

My latest obsession is hunting down a big tote or duffle bag. I need to accept the fact I’m just a person who lugs around a lot of stuff, and therefore can’t live with only a small handbag. I think I want vintage Celine (this one on The Real Real has been on my wishlist for a few weeks), or this one from Cos is giving me Prada Re Nylon vibes. I’m also on a journey to grow my jewellery collection. A string of Paspaley Pearls are on my bucket list but in the interim I love this Omega collar with a pearl pendant from Natasha Schweitzer. This HardWear pearl bracelet from Tiffany & Co is also really beautiful. Lastly, I’ve decided I need an oversized grey cashmere turtleneck. Uniqlo will be my first port of call.
As for beauty, I’ve been hearing everyone I trust talk about the IMBIBE Recover Rest hot chocolate blend. I am big on magnesium and love anything chocolate adjacent, so it’s at the top of my wishlist. I also noticed The Iconic has the VERY hard to come by Make Up Forever Lip Liner in Anywhere Caffeine… adding to cart as I type.

Shopping brings joy in the darkness of winter, so I’m happy to share what is on my dopamine list. Starting with beauty because my skin is in desperate need of support, we have the new Chanel Beauty No1 Serum-in-mist which is the perfect on the go pick me up for a face affected by the dry winter wind. My hair also needs such support, and with the frizz going crazy in the winter weather, I like to use the Kerastase glaze drops to add some nutrition and weight to my curls.
Moving onto clothing and accessories, I’m keen to try a barrel-leg jean like these from Wynn Hamlyn, perhaps partnering it with a classic Uniqlo cashmere knit for daily office wear. To complete my winter-proof outfit, I’ll add a statement boot like these from Jil Sander, and pair it with this buttery Ecco bag – I’m obsessed with the colour and shape.

I am incredibly bored with my wardrobe and have therefore decided it’s time to spice it up. Starting easy with a pop of colour in the form of a scarf. This Acne Studios one is the most heavenly shade of blue and would look phenomenal with the long black Frankie Shop coat I’ve had on my wishlist for months. I’m also convinced that these chrome sunglasses would make every outfit I own significantly cooler.
I live in jumpers for most of winter due to my distaste of layers (and also because I work from home and they are comfy af). In an attempt to up my game I’ve added this Acne Studios one to my wishlist.
Last but not least, some fun pieces to add some personality. This yellow “Reading is sexy” t-shirt is a must have, and I don’t think I can live without a popcorn necklace now that I know it exists.

The NEUW Denim PM singlet is conveniently on sale at the moment, and it's the perfect staple for layering during the winter. I was reading Digital Editor Kirsty's winter fashion trends and now want a brown cardigan, I think they're so versatile. I adore this one from Axel Arigato, I think it will pair well with this wear-everywhere tan bag. I have a couple of essential skincare top-ups on my list, the Liquid Peptides from Medik8 and the enzyme exfoliant from Peter Thomas Roth that I've been loyal to for about six years. Finally on my list, I have been staring at this Rat & Boa dress for probably four or five years. I have a wedding coming up in Bali and I think now is finally the time to pull the trigger.
