Whether you're halfway through packing a tent for a few days off-grid or staying exactly where you are to spend quality time with family and friends, the Easter long weekend is finally in sight. It’s four days of doing as little as possible – which, for the RUSSH team, looks like everything from Belvedere martinis in the city to local wines in regional NSW.
From the wedding guest dresses we're taking to Noosa to the skincare rescuing us from a weekend in Hobart, these are the pieces we're turning to for the long weekend. Maybe our list of long weekend non-negotiables will spark some inspiration for yours. Enjoy.

Over the long weekend my partner and I are heading off for a couple of days camping with our new weekend setup. I’m leaning into comfortable basics. These jeans from Assembly Label have been on my radar for a while. I’m always a sucker for denim and this wash feels exactly what my wardrobe needs right now. I also managed to snap up one of Little Yarn's infamous graphic tees before they sold out.
The packing list will stay simple: a pair of bike shorts, my Salomon sneakers, a good cap and plenty of sunscreen. I also spotted Olivia Dean wearing these DMY studio sunglasses recently, and they’ve quickly moved into high rotation in my accessories lineup. Lastly, my emotional support water bottle, a good book and that's me sorted.

A long weekend normally calls for either sitting at the beach or going on a mini holiday. I will be doing both and going to Hobart. I’m really into sunglasses right now, and these Celine sunglasses are just insane. This Beare Park long sleeve white t-shirt is on my list, though it sadly sold out after Margot Robbie wore it in black.
I'm loving a few things from Reformation recently – namely, this turtle neck top is perfect for the transeasonal weather. I loved this vintage Cavalli leopard print dress too, but I'm not sure if it will be very practical in Hobart's cooler weather. In a very ideal world, I would love this CHANEL small tote bag from Matthieu Blazy’s SS26 collection. I mean, I would take the whole collection if I could. It is phenomenal.
I need to get ahead of our RUSSH Book Club and start reading Sense and Sensibility. I'm so excited to see Diana Reid’s screen adaptation. I could argue that a long weekend just doesn't count if there isn't a little party, and I have been eyeing off a lot of Paris Georgia’s pieces recently. This Audrey dress is screaming at me. And also this crochet skirt and top set, it's very Matthieu Blazy-coded.

Long weekends for me often involve me looking like an unofficial submission to @girlscarryingshit, and so a functional carry-all handbag is a must. Despite my normal allergy to colour – I’m currently manifesting this LOEWE Amazona 180 bag in this incredible Royal Azur hue. Inside, you’ll always find my favourite DMY Margot Sunglasses, a subtle scent – like this perfect vanilla mini roll-on perfume oil from Maison Louis Marie, a good board game for transit time – obviously the go-to is Bananagrams – and a throw-on light layer like this MUJI Wool Polo.
Snacks and books are always a must as well – ideally this LUVIO Roasted Hazelnut Choc and polishing off the remainder of my current read: Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash.

Each Easter long weekend I head home to see family in regional NSW. The days are spent having overdue catch-ups, while enjoying plenty of local wines (notable mention goes to Via Pola Wines).
The weather can be unpredictable, so I always over-pack to cover all bases. This Chocolate Carl Friedrik suitcase fits all the essentials: a few pairs of denim, a Deiji Studios dress, boxer shorts that double-up for a game of pickleball, a relaxed pant from Venroy, and a cashmere v-neck for when the temperature drops.
In a carry bag I'll throw in my Kindle, sunglasses, and of course, a few copies of RUSSH's March issue (my Nonna loves reading each one in quiet moments).

This Easter long weekend coincides with my birthday weekend (Aries season!), and I’m very excited at the prospect of four consecutive days off. I’d almost always go home to Port Stephens, but this year I’m spending it at home in Sydney with my husband. It will also be our first weekend at home post renovation and I can’t wait to potter around and organise my stuff. With that being said, the underlying theme is comfort. I love Deiji Studios for cotton basics – I have this easy dress in black and white. Easter weather can be up and down, so I’ll keep some Uniqlo cashmere on hand, as well. They’re soft and I like the relaxed shape. I also just bought some Leset jersey pants and I adore them. Comfortable but I don’t feel like a slob. While we’re here, the Leset Margot t-shirt is absolutely the best I’ve worn. It’s soft, relaxed, lived-in but not too cropped. I will leave the house at some point for a long lunch, and thus a cute outfit is in order. I just bought this sheer navy tunic from Beare Park. I’ll probably wear it with my favourite Agolde jeans and a comfortable heel.
Outside of this, I’m looking forward to getting back into skincare – almost all of my products have been packed away. I dearly miss my San Lueur LED mask and collection of treatments. The Sisley Black Rose Mask will probably be the first one I reach for – it’s perfect as the weather cools.

This Easter long weekend I’m heading to Noosa for a wedding, and then staying a few extra days for a family holiday. I’m hoping to spend 99% of my time on the beach, so my trusty Faithfull bikini and new-favourite pareo are essentials. When it’s not socially acceptable to simply wear a bikini, I’ll be reaching for easy, throw-on pieces, like this striped sundress from Maggie Marilyn. These cotton poplin pants from Venroy are also a long weekend MVP, paired with my trusty Flore Flore tank, or something lightweight, like this lacy Doen crop.
Obviously the wedding is the weekend’s main event, and I’m currently nose deep in wedding guest dresses. My current frontrunners for a beach wedding is this one by Sev, this one by Sei, and this one by Anna Quan. Can you tell I’m loving strapless styles at the moment?
Other non-negotiables in my suitcase are my Kindle, a good pair of sunglasses (I’m loving these Chimi ones), and a throw-on layer for those cooler afternoons.

As fond as I am of an Easter getaway, I’m equally fond of a holiday at home. As my partner’s birthday falls over Easter this year, it will be a staycation with plenty of entertaining at home. For starters, we will no doubt be making Belvedere martinis with an array of olive and pickle brines as per last year (be warned, the jalapeño brine is not for the faint-hearted…!) Whilst I am unable to top gifting him our darling kitten, Mulder, last year, I will be treating him to some long weekend essentials: Aesop’s Moroccan Neroli Post-Shave Lotion, a bottle of 2020 Rauzan-Ségla, and some new guitar strings.
I may have outgrown the Easter Bunny, I would love it if someone delivered the Loco Love Cosmic Egg flavour bundle, I’ll happily hunt around for them and would definitely share. In between hosting, I would like to be cosy but chic and am coveting the P. Johnson Eloise Cardigan and matching tank, a top up of my Emma Lewisham Sleeping Mask, and a much overdue visit to Fenn for a sculpting facial, which has been referred to as ‘life changing’ from those lucky enough to experience it.

Whether it's a weekend away at the seaside or a staycation at home, here are a few essentials I can't go without. Be warned, I am not a light traveller, so this is just the start.
I will not leave the house without my Laneige lip mask, even though it's meant to be a sleep mask – that’s how dry my lips are, apparently. Anytime I go away, I try to detach and get a little reading in, so of course, the March issue of RUSSH will be my supplement this long weekend. My Peter Alexander pyjamas will definitely be coming with me. I have also just acquired these Gentle Monster sunglasses; the blue band on them perfectly matches my RUSSH Artistic Temperament cap. Both will be in use for any time spent in the sun, or if I’m having a bad hair or 'eye bag' day. The July Everyday Tote won't fit everything I need, but it will fit a lot. My beloved Frank Green will, of course, be coming along for the trip. And my Firebird Adidas shorts paired with my Salomons are fit for any adventure.

My long weekend will be spent moving out of our home, however, there will be downtime and chocolate; I will make sure of it. Now that my wardrobe has had a thorough clean out, if I were trawling the net for something new to fill a couple gaps, I'd start with outerwear. Especially since we've well and truly said goodbye to summer. VRG GRL's Kyra Blazer in Fern is a great option for running errands. This Reformation Clara Cashmere Crew Cardigan is the blue tone my wardrobe has been lacking (and it looks so comfortable). TOTEME's Oversized ribbed wool cardigan has been a wishlist item for a while and would be a great Easter gift (wink).
For underneath either of those cardigans, I'm thinking of this FAITHFULL Marcella Midi Dress Espresso for my Sunday breakfast date.
I will definitely be wearing my CAMILLA AND MARC Tatum Denim Jeans at least once, along with these Alias Mae Ivana Loafers. Lastly, a good book. One I have kept out of the packing boxes is Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
