If you thought Rosalía’s Motomami era was wild, wait until you hear what she’s cooking up next. The Spanish superstar has officially announced her fourth studio album, Lux, and the countdown is on: Friday 7 November 2025 is the big day. And yes, she managed to make the announcement as extra and dramatic as only Rosalía could – livestreaming from Madrid’s Gran Vía, cigarette in hand, while billboards lit up in Times Square.
So, what do we know so far? Let’s break it down.
The Title: Lux
Fans actually clocked this months ago when Rosalía trademarked the word "Lux". Theories started swirling online, and she later confirmed during her TikTok live that yes, it’s happening. Before deleting her X account, she even posted "Lux = Love".
The aesthetic

The cover art for the new album shows Rosalía dressed as a nun against a soft baby-blue background. There are definitely some religious connotations and spiritual iconography – themes she’s flirted with before on El Mal Querer. Clearly, she’s leaning into a symbolic, almost sacred vibe this time around. Which makes sense: if Motomami was chaotic, hyper-modern femininity, Lux might just be its meditative, divine sister.
The sound
Here’s where things get juicy. Rosalía told Elle earlier this year that Lux sounds nothing like Motomami. She wanted to take her time, step back from the industry’s relentless pace, and make something that felt pure – free from the pressure of money, power, or clout.
Basically, she’s chasing something deeper and more intentional. And while we don’t have a tracklist yet, one big change is confirmed: longtime collaborator El Guincho is not involved. That’s huge, considering he was key to the magic of El Mal Querer and Motomami. This time, Rosalía is steering the ship solo.
The rollout

Between surprise social media snippets, mysterious posters, and those huge New York billboards, Rosalía is fully embracing the art of the tease. She even launched HOLA ROSALÍA, her new HQ for fans to keep up with every breadcrumb. And if you’re a collector, vinyl and CD editions are already live on her site – one comes with a signed postcard for $34.99.
Overall, the album released feels perfectly timed for a rebrand. The singer's acting career will be taking off in early spring as part of the cast of Euphoria season three, too.
