Robyn is back to save the dance floor (and our feelings)

Robyn is back to save the dance floor (and our feelings)

If you’ve ever found yourself ugly-crying in a club bathroom while Dancing On My Own blasted through the walls, good news: Robyn is back to cathartically heal us all – or at least make us feel gloriously sad in motion again.

And let’s be real – Robyn’s songs don’t just live in our earbuds, they live in pop culture history. Whether it was that iconic Girls scene where Hannah and Marnie dance in their apartment or performed as a symphony in Bridgerton's second season, her music has soundtracked countless heartbreaks, warehouse raves, and slow-motion movie montages where the heroine finally chooses herself.

So yes, while the world spins wildly on, Robyn is once again sliding onto our playlists with some new music this month to remind us that feeling too much is the point. Cue the disco lights, dust off your dancing boots, and get ready to scream into the night. Our collective dopamine levels are about to spike.

What do we know so far about the release?

Over the weekend, the Swedish pop goddess dropped a cryptic post on Instagram: a link to her mailing list and the mysterious caption: “Keep your eyes open…” Naturally, the internet did what it does best – spiral into chaos. And after 24 hours of stan-level speculation, Robyn confirmed she’s releasing a new single called Dopamine this Wednesday. It’s her first solo release in nearly seven years, and frankly, the serotonin shortage has been real.

Longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund recently spilled on the Nordmark Pod that they’ve wrapped an entire new Robyn album – his words: “super exciting” and “very proud.”

Since her last album Honey dropped in 2018, Robyn hasn’t exactly gone off-grid – she’s been lending her ethereal touch to collabs with Charli XCX, SG Lewis, and Jamie xx. But Dopamine marks her official return to the solo spotlight, and honestly, the timing couldn’t be better. Things are bleak; we could all use a little more sonic joy.

When is it being released?

The new single will drop this Wednesday 12 November 2025.

Will there be an album?

Where there's smoke there's fire, and we're thinking it's likely that Dopamine is just the first track off a larger body of sonic work from the artist. When to expect a full album is another question – we're thinking it'll likely drop early 2026.
