Having just finished Rivals season two, part one, I was gutted to discover I now have to wait five months for part two to arrive on Disney+ in November. I'm practically gnawing at the bars of my cage, scouring Reddit threads to make sure I'm not the only one surviving on crumbs in search of answers.

Episode six left us with a major cliffhanger, as long-buried affairs were aired like dirty laundry. Not to mention a death that throws quite the spanner in the works. And while we'll avoid spoiling too much, we have questions – a lot of them.

The biggest one, of course, revolves around Taggie and Rupert. Can we please get a little more action from this duo? But it seems we're not alone. Like us, the internet has plenty of questions following that dramatic finale. With five months to go before we (hopefully) get some proper answers, we have been busy sleuthing and piecing together clues from the teaser released for part two.

Below, we've rounded up all the theories we hope Rivals season two, part two, will playout. Warning: spoilers ahead.

1. Monica's death leads to Tony's redemption

The last scene we saw in part one was Rupert telling Tony that Monica had died in a car crash after a tree fell on their car during the deadly storm. This came after Monica had revealed that she was divorcing him and had driven Caitlin home – quite the change in tone.

One possible theory is that this heartbreak will lead to Tony turning over a new leaf. Previously, his behaviour had continued to decline, especially as competition intensified and his actions became increasingly repulsive. We think this season might offer a glimpse of Tony choosing to let Venturer win, prioritising his children, and allowing this rivalry between the stations to finally come to some sort of end.

2. Lizzie and Freddie will end up together

Let's be honest: by this point, and especially after that ending where Lizzie ran to Freddie after the storm, confessing that she no longer wanted to hide their love, we all want these two to end up together.

When Monica approached Lizzie at her house in the middle of the storm and the two had a conversation about happiness, it seemed that something changed within Lizzie. It felt like a turning point for her. Besides, neither Freddie's nor Lizzie's current partners seem particularly interested, making it even easier to root for them as a couple.

3. Cameron will leave Rupert

After witnessing Taggie bring Rupert's horse home in the middle of the storm and then seeing the way Rupert cared for her afterwards, it became obvious that Cameron had finally realised there was something between them.

After Rupert drove Taggie home through the storm, Cameron brought up the small note from Taggie that Rupert had kept in his wallet since the beginning, further highlighting her suspicions. Not to mention, Cameron also seemed to grow increasingly comfortable and flirtatious with Declan during their trip to Ireland. Realising that her relationship with Rupert might not be as serious as she once thought, we believe these signs are leading towards Cameron ultimately leaving him.

4. Bas takes Taggie to the big Hunt Ball

The Hunt Ball is a major moment in the books and serves as a significant turning point for Rupert and Taggie's relationship. So we think Bas will ask Taggie to be his date to the ball, which could spark a jealous reaction from Rupert as he watches the two of them together. Our theory is that Rupert's emotions will finally boil over, leading him to confess his love for Taggie in an attempt to win back her heart.

But will it work? We certainly hope so, but only time will tell. However, readers of the book will know that Rupert's jealousy gets the better of him. In a moment of anger, he genuinely hurts Taggie by calling her a "tart" – a scene that has major consequences for their relationship. The fallout ultimately leads Rupert to leave the country for a while as he reflects on his actions and the damage he has caused.

5. Declan will find out about Maud and Tony

When their daughter Caitlin already knows about the affair, it seems only fitting this secert will eat her up inside that leads to her telling her father. And if he does ever find out, we can only imagine it will be a big scene.
