We've been gnawing at the bit for more of our favourite TV show Rivals, and its finally en route. The raunchy 80s comedy-drama captured our hearts in late 2024 as we binged our way through every episode, and all the sex, drama, and scandals in between.

So where will season two take us? Everything we know so far, below.

What is season 2 about?

Those who have made their way through season one will know that the last episode left on a very gruesome cliffhanger. Tensions were well and truly at boiling point between Rupert Campbell-Black, Declan O'Hara, Lord Badidngton, and Cameron Cook, as they fought for control of the main television network in the Cotswalds area. Hopefully, in season two, we'll see a winner to this hard-fought battle.

According to Deadline, we can expect the battle to continue in season 2, between Corundum and Venturer within the Central South West television franchise. After the ending of season 1, Tony Baddingham, played by David Tennant, is plotting to end his rivals after his downfall on the show. We can expect rivalries, weaponised scandals, and lots of manipulation.

Cooper, who is also an executive producer on the series, said, “Nearly 40 years after my novel Rivals was published, I’ve adored seeing the world fall in love with my beloved characters – Rutshire’s finest.

“It has been a fairytale come true working with Happy Prince and Disney+ on the first season. I’m orgasmic with excitement and cannot wait for the return of my superhero Rupert Campbell-Black and the rest of the characters in season two."

Who's in the cast?

According to the newly released trailer, it looks like most of the series one actors will return, including Alex Hassell, who plays our favourite anti-hero Rupert Campbell-Black. We can also confirm Bella Maclean, who plays Taggie, will return, with Rupert, so hopefully they can finally make their romance happen. Further to the list Danny Dyer, Aidan Turner, and Katherine Parkinson.

It also looks like we have two new characters joining season two, played by actors Rupert Everett and Hayley Atwell.

When will it premiere?

We finally have a premiere date. Disney+ confirmed Rivals season two will launch on the May 15th. Releasing the first six episodes in one batch, followed by the second batch with the final six episodes.
