What else is happening?
Beyond the music lineup, RISING 2026 introduces the inaugural Australian Dance Biennale, a new platform dedicated to dance across theatres, clubs and public spaces. The program includes major works such as Hard to Be Soft: A Belfast Prayer by Oona Doherty, the world premiere of The Forest by Lucy Guerin Inc, and a rare revival of Chunky Move’s landmark interactive performance Glow.
The festival will also reopen the historic Flinders Street Station Ballroom as Land of 1000 Dances, transforming the space into a living dance academy where audiences can join classes spanning everything from ballet and jazz to vogue and street dance.
Elsewhere, international performance highlights include Florentina Holzinger’s new theatrical epic A Year Without Summer, Khalid Abdalla’s multimedia solo work Nowhere, and Narcissister’s immersive performance installation Voyage Into Infinity.
