Adam Driver is returning to television with Netflix’s ‘Rabbit, Rabbit’

Adam Driver

Adam Driver is heading back to the silver screen, but it's set to be a whole lot different than the role in Girls that made him famous.

The Academy Award–nominated actor is set to lead Rabbit, Rabbit, a new Netflix thriller that charts a hostage situation, diving deep into themes of confinement, control, and moral complexity. Produced by MRC, the studio behind Ozark and The Outsider, the series marks Driver’s first major return to the small screen since 2012. Here's what we know.

What is Rabbit, Rabbit about?

The story begins at a remote petrol station, where an escaped convict is being cornered by the police. In a desperate bid for survival, he takes a group of hostages — but what begins as a standoff quickly spirals into something stranger and more psychological. As the tension escalates, the captor and his captives are drawn into a volatile social experiment. And facing him from the outside is a veteran FBI negotiator, whose skill in “tactical empathy” is the key to ending the confrontation.

Who is involved?

Driver not only stars but also serves as executive producer, alongside Craig, Barantini, and producers Samantha Beddoe and Bryan Unkeless (best known for I, Tonya). The cast beyond Driver is yet to be announced, but our anticipation is already running high.

Rabbit, Rabbit comes from creator and showrunner Peter Craig, whose writing credits include The Town and Top Gun: Maverick. The series will be directed by Philip Barantini, the Emmy-winning filmmaker known for Adolescence, bringing his signature sense of real-time tension to the project.

When will it be released?

Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for Rabbit, Rabbit, though production is underway. Until then, catch us on our 50th rewatch of Girls.
