Here’s your guide to exploring, and savouring every moment of Woodlands Cabin.

Where to stay

The Woodlands Cabin is a study in considered design; expansive windows framing the bush beyond. Inside, every detail has been thoughtfully curated, plush linens, warm timber finishes, and a sense of calm that settles in the moment you arrive. Self check-in from 3:00 pm makes arrival effortless.  What truly sets The Woodlands Cabin apart is its complete sense of privacy. Tucked into a quiet corner of Mt Kanimbla Retreats, the cabin feels worlds away from the city. There are no neighbouring rooms, no busy roads, and no interruptions. We were also welcome to regular visits from wallabies and kangaroos, a gentle reminder that this is a place where nature is very much part of the experience.

What to do

We took the chance to truly reconnect with the wild, beginning with a cool down in our private plunge pool, followed by a long, indulgent bath in the elegant freestanding tub. Mornings were spent watching the mist roll over the mountains before wandering the nearby wallaby trails on a peaceful bush walk. Evenings were simple, cooking together, lingering over a glass of wine on the deck, and soaking in the quiet.

What to take

This was a weekend getaway that called for just the essentials: a bag just big enough for a pair of jeans or linen trousers, a T-shirt, and a lightweight button up top. I also packed my swimmers and a pair of thongs for easy poolside transitions. Finally, a pair of sunnies, a hat, and a good book and you’re all set to go.
