Postcards from Paris with Maggie Marilyn’s Anna McBride

postcards from paris

There’s no such thing as a slow week in Paris—especially not during Resort season. For Anna McBride, Head of Marketing at Maggie Marilyn, five days in the city meant a careful balance of work and play, with a few spontaneous moments scattered throughout. Between preparing for the brand’s Resort ’26 showing at LVMH Métiers d'Art and navigating a heatwave, McBride carved out time of stillness in the City of Light: from early-morning walks through the Tuileries, to espresso stops on quiet corners, and dinners where the people-watching is as good as the steak frites.

From the dreamscape of the Palais Royal to the bustle of Sentier, Anna’s week unfolded in a rhythm both purposeful and distinctly Parisian — each day punctuated by chic outfits, neighbourhood discoveries, and the occasional gelato run. Here, she shares her travel diary, and a guide to spending a summer week in the City of Light.

Day one

I knew the rest of the week would be mad, so I made sure to get to the Palais Royal for a coffee and take a walk through the Tuileries Garden in case I didn’t get back here.

I also made my way to Galeries Lafayette to hide in the air-conditioned shoe department and hunt for size 37 Manolos (a girl can dream!)

And to finish it all off, I had a solo dinner with a side of people-watching at Aux Crus de Bourgogne.

Day two

day two

The day began with setting up for Maggie Marilyn’s Resort ‘26 collection at LVMH Métiers d'Art. We were so honoured to show in this beautiful space as an alumni of the LVMH Young Designer Award. I also made time for  Coffee at Noir which has spots all over Paris! This one was in the 2nd near the Sentier neighborhood.

Experimenting with Resort ‘26 outfit recipes. Also indulged in another espresso for the jet lag, against my better judgement.

At night, it was a self-imposed afternoon ritual of gelato, and walking home past the Eiffel tower.

Day three

day three

Morning pastry pit stop en route to LVMH Métiers d'Art. I took the queue outside as a good omen!

Walking to lunch in our Have The Faith Suit and MM x ESSEN Ballet Slippers which were, impressively, still comfortable 15,000 steps later.

Wrapped up the day with dinner at Le Petit Lutetia for the greatest steak frites in the whole wide world.

Day four

Copains for the morning pastry run in neapolitan ice cream stripes (paying homage to my afternoon gelato ritual).

Lunch at Les Enfants du Marche for mussels in a gorgonzola sauce and grilled octopus.

Stumbled across the incredible "Oasis of Aboukir" green wall, which was designed by Patrick Blanc and has 237 different species of plants. Then headed back to Palais Royal for more gelato.

Day five

singlet

Morning appointments in the 01 Singlet and a skirt from our Resort collection that I now have to wait until November to wear again.

Finished up the day with dinner at Alfred including my first taste of escargot. Verdict: I probably wouldn’t order it again unless it was covered in garlic pesto like this one.
