What to expect from the Pink Full Moon in Libra this April

pink moon april

April's Full Moon arrives on Sunday 13. It will reach its fullest point at exactly 10:22am AEST. If you look to the sky and wonder why this Moon appears to be somewhat smaller than normal, that's because this will be a micro Full Moon – where the Moon is at one of its furthest positions from Earth.

Colloquially, this Full Moon is known as the Pink Full Moon. Of course, this isn't because it actually turns pink. Rather it is named for the Northern Hemisphere's blooming flowers that which often reach full bloom around the time of this Moon. And interestingly, in 2025, this Full Moon is also known as the Paschal Full Moon.

The Paschal Full Moon is the first Full Moon following the March Equinox. Meaning sometimes the Paschal Full Moon is in March and sometimes its in April – this year its the April Moon. And what's the significance of The Paschal Full Moon? Well, it sets the date of Easter. The first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon is always Easter Sunday in the Catholic calendar.

The Pink Full Moon in Libra means careful evaluation – and cutting ties with problematic people

This Full Moon falls in Libra – it represents a turning point.

The March Equinox is often considered the astrological new year, this is why Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. With this in mind, our April Full Moon if the first Moon of the astrological year, a burst of energy as we descend into the months ahead.

Full Moons are the peak of the Moon Cycle, they are high energy, high intensity moments that can manifest as deeply emotional or revelatory. Think of it like a light being shone on a new pathway you didn't even realise was there. This sudden illumination can of course be destabilising and leave you feeling raw. But it also offers new opportunities, should you wish to take them.

Libra's influence here is one of balance. This is a moment of equilibrium before the scales tip one way or the other. And it will be your choices in this moment that determine whether the balance tips in your favour. Libra is the sign of fairness and justice. It carefully weighs up all options before proceeding, and it is this evaluation that will be needed in this moment. It is time to take stock and recalibrate in order to move through the rest of the year unburdened – and ultimately as the best version of yourself.

We'll be free from the chaos and shackles of Mercury Retrograde so we can afford to be more liberal in our communications. This will be your time to set boundaries, whether that be with your parents, friends or even with your workplace. It also might be the time you have to say goodbye to a relationship (romantic or platonic) in order to move forward. Cutting ties with someone is not something that can be done with haste. But here, Libra's balancing energy will reveal the truth of your current situation and help you understand that someone else's toxic weight it not your burden to bear.

What to watch out for

You will need to ask yourself if you are giving more to your relationships than you receive back? While close relationships should not involve score keeping, you also cannot continue to pour from your cup if no one is pouring back into yours.

With Pisces oozing its influence over Venus, Mercury and Saturn at this time, we won't feel particularly inspired to play by the rules when it comes to love. Pisces is deeply compassionate and can inspire us to make excuses for the bad behaviour of those around us. But this will ultimately be to your detriment. With Mars, our warrior planet, tensely squaring off against the Sun, conflict could be on the horizon if the current situations are not managed carefully.

Truly, this Full Moon will be the inflection point that could dictate the tone for the months ahead. Do what you can to ensure the scales do eventually tip towards you.
