The newest device to Samsung's Galaxy S25 line up is the S25 Edge. Sleek, slim and form-focused, this is a phone that has been designed to slip comfortably into your handbag. It's a device that powers you up, rather than weighing you down.
Certainly one of the most impressive aspects of this new device is its powerful camera. Ultra-slim devices often cannot accommodate top-of-the-range camera tech, but the Galaxy S25 Edge breaks the mould. We handed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge to campaigns manager and photographer Olivia Repaci to test out the camera capabilities. She took it out for a day-in-the-life of a photographer: model castings, shoot reviews and media events. And, there are some tips and tricks she discovered in order to capture the best photo.
Below, find a photographer's guide to capturing creative and aesthetically-professional photos on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Make friends with your zoom
Experimenting with different zoom options can help you find the perfect angle. Having options for ultra wide, wide-angle and 2x optical-quality zoom allows you to play with different photography styles. The autofocus on the ultra-wide option kept all the shots looking crisp, so don't be scared to experiment. The versatility and ability to quickly switch between zoom lengths was very useful when shooting go-sees and castings for upcoming jobs. It's incredibly-easy to shoot models in different frames at the tap of a button.
Snap on the run thanks to the 200mp sensor and image optimisation
Point-and-shoot made easy. The 200-megapixel sensor makes on-the-go shooting a breeze. There was no need to slow down to take photos and no need to wait for the perfect moment. You can snap beautiful images as you're moving. The enhanced stabilisation and clarity, and high resolution multi-frame processing, allows for crisp capture on the go.
Galaxy S25 Edge has the same ProVisual Engine as the Galaxy S25, but with pro-grade enhancements. One of these is true-to-life skin tone, which allows you to capture perfect portraits. It was particularly helpful for accuracy during Repaci's model castings.
Get creative with Nightography
Repaci in her own words said "the power at night was unprecedented". The Galaxy S25 Edge's Nightography capabilities mean you can experiment with night-time and low-light photography to capture some uniquely creative images. This is a phone camera that makes a truly impressive use of any limited light available.
Don't forget to adjust the manual exposure
To dial up the moodiness of your imagery, play with the manual exposure. Using the on-screen controls, you can increase or decrease the exposure of the shot. There's also the option to lock the exposure once you've found a level that you like. It makes the experience less fiddly and allows you to shoot images consistently in the same aesthetic.
Clean up your shots with the on-device object eraser
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a range of photo editing features, powered by on-device AI technology* – the object eraser is one of the most impressive. It can clean up images at the tap of a finger. Select the object you want removed from the image, whether a shadow or background distractions, and the AI will remove the object. It will then seamlessly continue the background for a professional and polished aesthetic.
*Fees may apply to certain AI features at the end of 2025.
