For those of us who have been manifesting new Phoebe Bridgers music, our patience is about to pay off in a big way.
Ahead of Lost Weekend arriving on August 14, Bridgers is treating fans around the world to the opportunity to hear her third album before anyone else through a series of special listening events — and Australia is included.
Rather than a traditional album playback, participating planetariums in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand will host sessions that pair Lost Weekend with specially created visual installations projected across their ceilings.
True to Bridgers' long-standing no-phone policy, every planetarium session will be completely device-free, with phones locked away before guests enter.

When and where are the Australian Lost Weekend listening parties?
Australian fans have two opportunities to experience Lost Weekend before it officially arrives. There are two confirmed Australian locations:
- Scienceworks Melbourne Planetarium (Melbourne, Victoria) — Wednesday, August 13
- UOW Science Space (Wollongong, New South Wales) — Wednesday, August 13
New Zealand fans will also be able to attend screenings at Auckland's Te Whatu Stardome, Dunedin's Tūhura Planetarium and Wellington's Space Place.
How to get tickets
Tickets to both parties are now available. Melbourne tickets can be purchased through Museums Victoria, while Wollongong tickets are available through Science Space.
What about the Australian Lost Weekend midnight listening parties?
If you miss out on tickets to the planetarium listening parties, there are other ways to celebrate the album's release.
Alongside the immersive screenings, a handful of Australian record stores will host official midnight listening parties on Thursday, August 13, giving fans the chance to hear the album together as it arrives in local time.
