Fresh off the success of Heated Rivalry, Connor Storrie isn’t slowing down. And he's also proving he can't be confined to the queer hockey romance genre, circling his first role in partnership with indie heavyweight A24.
Storrie is in talks to join the cast of Peaked, a high school reunion comedy that’s been assembling one of the most compelling ensembles in recent memory over the last few days. Here's what you need to know.
What is it about?
Peaked centres on "the two girls who traumatised you in high school as they attempt to relive their former glory at their 10-year reunion." It’s a premise ripe for comedic catharsis, and will no doubt be expertly delivered thanks to A24’s knack for character-driven comedies that skewer social hierarchies.
Who is involved?
The film is set to star Molly Gordon and Allie Levitan, who also wrote the script together, as the titular mean girls who 'peaked', so to speak, in highschool. Gordon is also set to direct. Emma Mackey will appear alongside them, with additional cast members including Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, Levon Hawke, Mitra Jouhari and Gabby Windey.
Although Storrie isn't officially locked in, whether he's in or out will need to be confirmed soon, because production is reportedly set to begin this month. If it does come through, it would mark a significant pivot following his breakout turn as Russian NHL star Ilya Rozanov. The adaptation of Rachel Reid’s novels became a cultural phenomenon in a matter of weeks, averaging more than 10.6 million U.S. viewers in its first season and has already been renewed for a second instalment.
When will it come out?
An official release date for Peaked has yet to be announced. With filming scheduled to begin this month, a 2027 release feels likely, but we'll wait for A24 to confirm a timeline.
