There was a time when asking someone their star sign before their surname might have seemed mildly unhinged to some. But these days, it’s practically due diligence.
Astrology has slipped comfortably from the back pages into our everyday vocabulary, becoming shorthand for personality, compatibility and, on the occasion, questionable decision-making... And now, Pandora’s latest Talisman collection takes that fascination somewhere more tangible: out of the birth chart and onto the body.

Launching this spring, the new chapter introduces zodiac medallions alongside articulated rings, elemental charms and foundational chain necklaces, all designed to be layered, stacked and imbued with meaning particular to their wearer.
But this isn’t astrology at its most obvious. Rather than leaning into celestial sparkle, Pandora has looked backwards. The Talismans have the quality of objects unearthed rather than newly minted, with mixed metals, time-worn textures and meticulous hand-finishing that lends each piece the feeling of being a modern-day relic. Man-made mother of pearl, constellations of stones, carved cameos and hidden Latin inscriptions appear throughout, rendered in sterling silver and 14-karat gold plating.

Naturally, all 12 signs make an appearance. Capricorn’s loyalty and Leo’s passion are translated into medallions, while earth, water, air and fire offer another route for those unwilling to let a birth date dictate their jewellery box. Perhaps the most compelling piece, however, is the rotating Sun and Moon Flip Ring, inscribed with the Latin sentiment “Through hardships to the stars” – an ancient maxim that tugs at ideas from classical Roman authors like the Poet Virgil ("thus one journeys to the stars").
“Imperfectly beautiful, the Talismans are more than jewellery; they are quiet affirmations, whispered reminders of strength, hope and destiny,” said Pandora Creative Directors, Francesco Terzo and A. Filippo Ficarelli. And that idea of identity as something that evolves rather than remaining fixed carries into the Cass Bird-shot campaign, starring Alex Consani, Mahi Kabra and Jill Kortleve. Consani also co-hosted an immersive Los Angeles celebration on 27 August, timed to coincide with the eve of the Sturgeon Moon and its associations with resilience and hidden emotions.
