A ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ sequel is reportedly en route

'Once upon a time in hollywood' sequel

It looks like Quentin Tarantino is headed back to the drawing board, with news of a sequel to his 2019 hit, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The original movie, set in 1969 Los Angeles, was a nostalgic love letter to the golden age of Hollywood, featuring Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), and the tragic story of Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie).

A critical and commercial success, the film captivated audiences with its blend of historical fiction and Tarantino's trademark style. Now, with an apparent sequel in the works, only one question remains: what’s next for this iconic world?

Who is involved in the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel?

In a departure from the original, early reports suggest that the sequel won't, in fact, be directed by Tarantino. While he did write the script, the director's chair will instead be occupied by David Fincher (best known for Gone Girl, The Social Network, and Fight Club) this time around.

On camera, there's no stars locked in to reprise their roles, however the original did catapult the likes of Mikey Madison, Austin Butler, Margaret Qualley, and Sydney Sweeney to a global stage. Could the foursome be back on board for the upcoming film, or will the sequel set the stage for some new talent in Hollywood? Only time will tell.

What is the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel about?

There's really no word on what the film will follow, but Tarantino is known for keeping his plots unpredictable, so it’s safe to say fans should expect fresh twists and developments in the next chapter.

It's also been reported that the upcoming project isn't a direct sequel to Once Upon a Time, but rather a “derivative” project that takes inspiration from it.

When would the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel premiere?

With the outline of the film only just taking shape, it's too soon to know exactly when it will hit our screens. According to some reports, however, filming could start as early as mid 2025, and would be distributed by Netflix. We'll keep you updated as we know more.
