November’s Full Moon in Taurus is about pleasure seeking

Pink Super Moon April

November's Full Moon arrives early in the month on the evening of Wednesday 5 November. Although, it doesn't technically reach its fullest point until 12:19am AEDT, meaning the official date is actually 6 November. Either way, it will appear full across both days.

As with all Full Moons, the best time to see it will be around sunset, when the Moon is closest to the horizon, making it appear bigger. And, this Moon will already be bigger and brighter than normal, as it is the second Full Moon in a Supermoon series. Falling in the sign of Taurus, expect to feel a deep desire to indulge. Here's everything you need to know.

The best view of the Supermoon is at sunset

Thanks to an optical illusion, Full Moons always look biggest when closest to the horizon. The Moon will be the closest to the horizon at sunset, so this is the best time to have your eyes on the sky. Here are the sunset times in your city:

  • Canberra (ACT) ~8:02 PM AEDT
  • Sydney (NSW) ~7:22 PM AEDT
  • Adelaide (SA) ~7:46 PM ACDT
  • Brisbane (QLD) ~6:27 PM AEST
  • Perth (WA) ~5:50 PM AWDT
  • Melbourne (VIC) ~7:33 PM AEDT
  • Hobart (TAS) ~7:46 PM AEDT
  • Darwin (NT) ~6:55 PM ACDT

What exactly is a Supermoon?

Did you know there is a technical, astronomical definition for the term "Supermoon"? Many use the word to refer to any Moon that appears larger than normal, but Supermoons are specifically those that are closer to Earth than other Full Moons.

The Moon's orbit is not a perfect circle around the Earth, rather, it's elliptical. As a result, there will be times when the Moon is closer to the Earth and others, further away. When the Moon reaches its closest distance to Earth, this is called perigee – around 363,300 km away. And when perigee lines up with the timing of the Full Moon, a Supermoon occurs. According to NASA, a Supermoon can appear "14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter" than a regular Full Moon.

What to expect from the November Taurus Full Moon

As the energetic high point of the Moon Cycle, Full Moons are considered an emotional crest. The Moon rules our inner and emotional selves, and at the Full Moon, this part of us is pulled to the surface. Of course, this Moon arrives as a Supermoon, magnifying all the typical effects of the Full Moon and amplifying everything we feel. Expect a supercharged atmosphere; the world around you may feel bigger, brighter, and a touch more dramatic than usual.

High energy and high impact, the Full Moon provides a sense of illumination. This can come in the form of new idea or even a new romance. Or perhaps it will offer new revelations, pulling down a veil of secrecy and opening your eyes to what is truly happening around you. The Full Moon is also a time to reap what you sow. Any manifestations or intentions set at the New Moon could be ready to greet you.

The influencing sign of this Moon is Taurus; this Earth sign is is grounding, sensual, and steadfast. It’s the sign that finds beauty in stillness and in the familiar — good food, the creature comforts of home, lazy mornings spent luxuriating in peace. The Bull doesn’t rush transformation; it prefers to move through life at its own deliberate pace, soaking in every sensory pleasure along the way. Under this Taurus Full Moon, we may all find ourselves craving this simplicity; a slower rhythm.

You might feel drawn to familiar rituals: your favourite Friday night restaurant, cosy home movie nights or your favourite comfort book. And paired with this desire for familiarity is the desire for indulgence. Taurus Full Moons inspire pleasure seeking: retail therapy, good food and gratifying romance. Self control is off the table, opening yourself to your desires is on instead; whether that be the new handbag you've been eyeing off for months or the casual fling you've been looking to restart.

On a deeper level, this Full Moon stirs questions about stability and self-worth. Knowing that Taurus rules the material world – money, possessions, and the structures that make us feel safe – if you have strong Earth placements in your natal chart, this pull will feel much stronger. There is a renewed desire for balance, grounding, and security. But as always with Taurus, there’s a catch: its resistance to change. The Bull prefers the comfort of what it knows, even when something new is calling. We are asked to remember that stability isn’t the same as stagnation. Release your grip on the things that no longer serve you, even if it feels uncomfortable to do so. Trust that letting go can also be an act of grounding.

Ultimately, the Taurus Full Moon invites us to reconnect with the simple pleasures of being alive. To eat well, rest deeply, and surround ourselves with beauty. It’s a reminder that indulgence can be healing, and that sometimes the most luxurious thing we can do is slow down, savour the moment, and let the world soften around us.
