September’s New Moon in Virgo wants you to have difficult conversations

new moon

A New Moon in Virgo arrives on September 11, asking us to look at the small choices from which a life is made. Virgo is often reduced to planners, routines and reorganising the bathroom cabinet, but Virgo’s real gift is discernment. It notices what is working and what we have been tolerating simply because fixing it would be inconvenient. You don’t have to reinvent your entire life overnight. Choose one small act of alignment and practise it until it becomes a new way of living. Send that honest message and keep the promises you made to yourself.

What Does the Virgo New Moon mean for you?

Before I ask you to disappoint someone, it’s key to understand that compromise has its place. I love the moment two people stop defending their separate corners and build a third place they can both live inside. I believe that sometimes love means letting something small remain small. We just need a careful eye to see when keeping the peace becomes our favourite hiding spot.

If you are sensitive, perceptive, or painfully aware of everyone else’s emotional temperature, diplomacy may be one of the ways you have survived. You know how to soften the sentence. But, it is possible to become so good at maintaining harmony that nobody notices you have disappeared from it. The New Moon is helping us all to bring us back into balance with our values in the heart of our connections.

Additionally, Mercury – Virgo’s planetary ruler – moves into Libra on the exact same day. So this New Moon does not only want you to reorganise your schedule. It wants you to examine your relationships. More specifically, it wants you to notice the tiny places where you have been editing yourself to remain ‘loveable’.

Mercury in Libra is brilliant at seeing both sides. But sometimes seeing every side becomes a very elegant way of refusing to stand on your own. This is where integrity enters the room.

Integrity isn’t about always being good, agreeable or above reproach. Integrity is simply the condition of being whole. Your compassion for another person does not require an ongoing betrayal of yourself. Virgo gives us the precision to name what is happening. Libra gives us the language to bring it into a relationship. Together, they ask a more interesting question than, “How do I keep the peace?” They ask: “What kind of peace requires me to go missing?”

How to work with this New Moon energy

So I would like to invite you, gently, to commit a little heresy against compulsory harmony. Tell the truth before it becomes resentment. Ask the unflattering question. Let the boundary make the room briefly uncomfortable. Not to destroy the relationship, just to discover whether it can survive the presence of the real you.

The one who is whole.
