Our next New Moon arrives on Thursday 19 March. It turns new at exactly 12:23pm AEDT, and comes to us (in the last few degrees of Pisces) and as the Sun prepares to move out of the Water sign and into Aries. Aries season is considered the astrological start of the year, as such the New Moon is an opportunity for us to consider what we have learned over the last few months and move forward with intention. Here's what you need to know.
What will the New Moon in Pisces mean for us astrologically?
A New Moon is the close of one Moon Cycle and the opening of another. It is an energetic low point that marks a point of emotional and inner reset. Where the Sun rules our outer self, the Moon holds influence over emotions and our internal selves. Consider this almost as a spiritual cleanse, a chance to clear your head and your spirit as you prepare to take on a new chapter. It is also the best time over the Moon Cycle to manifest and set intentions for your future.
This New Moon will be all about finding alignment. Spiritually, we need to consolidate all the lessons from the last few months. The outer planet have been shifting, Neptune and Saturn have both moved into Aries and in the middle of last year Jupiter moved into Cancer. Coupled with a chaotic period of Mercury Retrograde and a deeply affecting eclipse season, you would be very lucky to have escaped the last few months emotionally unscathed. But following upheaval, we have the ability to look at the teachable moments and actively learn from them. Our New Moon in Pisces will offer us that quiet space we need to absorb and align, so that we can move forward into the next chapter with intention.
We're just days away from entering Aries season; a time of action and forward thinking. During this period we meet the March Equinox (spring for the North and autumn of for the South); this particular day is considered to be the astrological new year. It will be one of the most important days for setting intentions and energetically aligning with your goals for the future. We have some work to do before we meet this moment. Consider, what do you need to do to ensure you are successful in your pursuits? What do you need to shed? What do you need to adjust? What needs to be reframed? Answering these questions will better help you manifest your dreams into reality.
Align with your intuition
You should rely on your intuition in this moment and try to connect with this part of yourself more deeply. When the Full Moon falls in a Water sign, it can be deeply and intensely emotional. But when our New Moon lands in Water, this opens us up in a more earnest way. We have a quiet moment to tap into those parts of ourselves that may not receive the nurturing they deserve. Explore your relationship with your intuition, because listening to your gut will be your best and truest guide over the next year. Pisces is regarded at the clairvoyant of the Zodiac, so this New Moon may arrive with messages. Be ready to receive them.
If you've felt some of your more creative projects fall stagnant of the last few months, mentally punishing yourself will not solve anything. The shifting planets and upheavals of late have left little room for us to do anything but ride the waves. But this New Moon reopens space for us to feel creative again. As we cleanse and release ourselves of what doesn't serve us, Pisces ignited that creative spark that we need to flow again. Creativity and imaginative exploration is a catharsis for so many of us, this period will feel healing and restorative. In moments of intensive change, it is important to always recognise when you need to fill your cup. Don't forget to dream.
