Another year, another playlist to refresh. As we settle into 2025, our ears are already trained on the horizon, listening for potential album releases, familiar voices and unexpected returns. Some artists have announced their comebacks with calculated precision, teasing rollouts and cryptic Instagram posts. Others, however, have left us watching the silence, knowing it sometimes speaks the loudest.
This year promises album releases from certified icons and cult favourites alike, with a few names already locked in for major drops. But part of the thrill lies in the unknown: the sudden midnight single releases, the enigmatic album art, the cryptic TikTok teasers. From industry titans to underground shapeshifters, here's what we know—and what we're daring to dream—about the albums of 2025.
Harry Styles

For Harry Styles fans, the fate of the singer's fourth album has been a rollercoaster to say the least. It's been nearly two years since Styles wrapped Love On Tour, and we're positively starved for his serotonin-inducing music. Luckily, if some of Styles' most hardcore fans are to be believed, new music could be en route as early as June or July. Need proof? The singer was recently spotted in Germany with his Love On Tour bandmates, tour manager Jeff, and producer Kid Harpoon in tow. A coincidence, or the sign of a fourth album brewing? Only time will tell.
Haim

It's been five long years since Haim last blessed us with new music, but in 2025 that's all about to change. The sister-trio have already released two singles: Relationships and Down To Be Wrong, both of which came with music videos featuring internet boyfriends Drew Starkey and Logan Lerman, respectively. As for the actual album, we now know that it's titled I Quit, and will hit streamers on June 20. The countdown is well and truly on.
Addison Rae

If you told us five years ago that Addison Rae would have one of the coolest debut album rollouts in recent history, we likely wouldn't have believed you. But it seems her transformation from TikTok teen to certified pop star is almost complete, culminating in the release of her self-titled album, Addison. The singer has delivered a masterclass in quirky musical teasers recently, from announcing the album's release date via a pair of Victoria' Secret underwear on stage at Coachella, to serving ultimate 2000s realness with the release of her official album art. Needless to say, we're obsessed.
Lorde

We've thought about little else since Lorde announced her first new album in four years was coming, if not for the promise of decade-defining songs, then for the sheer coolness of the announcement itself. The singer shared the news in a characteristically enigmatic way, via a 15-second TikTok of her first single, 'What Was That'. She followed it up with a seemingly spontaneous listening session of the track in New York's Washington Square Park (our FOMO was astronomical). It should really come as no surprise that the marketing for the album is so perfect: on Lorde's team is Terry O'Connor, one of the masterminds behind Charli XCX's Brat, and the art director for both Haim and Addison Rae's forthcoming albums. We can't wait to see what this duo does next.
Olivia Rodrigo

Call it wishful thinking, but we think Olivia Rodrigo has a new album brewing in 2025. And we're not alone: Olivia's fans are convinced the signer is working on something, and will be using her upcoming festival run (she's headlining Glastonbury later this year) to promote it. It makes sense, considering that Rodrigo waited around two years between the release of Sour and Guts. Following this formula, a third album would be on the way sometime in mid-2025... Here's hoping.
The 1975

We've been longing for newness from The 1975 for more than three years, and in 2025, those prayers might just be answered. The band's frontman Matty Healy has been fairly liberal with hints at new music over on Instagram, from tagging rumoured collaborators (The Japanese House and Dijon, to name a few), to straight-up posting an Instagram story of what look to be song recordings. They've also got a headlining spot at Glastonbury this year, which would make a pretty prime stage for album promotion. It's still all speculation at this point, but what we've come to learn from Healy and The 1975 is that, where there's smoke, there's usually fire.
Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion is continuing her run of on-point singles, with her first new track of 2025: 'Whenever.' It's all set to culminate in the release of her upcoming album, Act III, which is slated for release sometime this year. There's no word yet on when the album itself will drop, but if this momentum is anything to go by, we're crossing our fingers for the very near future.
