Find your cosiest blanket and curate a selection of snacks because the May new releases to Netflix will have you ready to cancel all your plans. If you're lamenting bingeing through the new season of Heartbreak High too quickly, just know there are plenty of new-to-Netflix titles ready to keep you company throughout the month.
Highlights from Netflix's May releases
Tennis fans will be pleased to hear two tennis documentaries are coming. We'll get a new view into legend Rafael Nada, with a documentary arriving on 29 May, it's called Rafa. In this portrait of his life, Nadal reflects on his career, his family and his final tennis season before retirement. Jelena Dokic's highly regarded documentary, Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story, will also land on Netflix on 15 May. A delightfully witty new show called The Boroughs lands on 21 May. Set in a retirement community, an unlikely group must fight against a time-stealing otherworldly threat. It has some big names too; Geena Davis, Bill Pullman, Alfred Molina and Jenna Malone. Remarkably Bright Creatures is a film starring Sally Field that following a woman who forms a unlikely but clear friendship with an Octopus, one of the world's most intelligent animals. It arrives on 8 May. A big month for documentaries, we'll also see a deep dive into the live of iconic entertainer Martin Short with a work called Marty, Life is Short – expect it on 12 May. Other big name titles you may have already seen like Bohemian Rhapsody, I Saw The TV Glow, and Bugonia will also make their way onto the streaming service this month.
