Is the Miu Miu Tyre sneaker about to be the shoe of the year?

Another year, another sneaker to covet. Italian fashion House Miu Miu is no stranger to thinking outside the box when it comes to setting trends, and their latest sneaker styles are no exception. In a follow up to the hotly sought-after New Balance X Miu Miu 530 SL's, the brand has once again changed the footwear game with the Tyre range.

Launched as part of the brand's Spring/Summer 2025 Prelude collection, the shoes sit somewhere between a ballet flat and a traditional sneaker. Equal parts elegant and aesthetic, there are two styles in the Tyre range: a suede ballerina, and a lace-up sneaker, both available in a selection of muted neutrals. The ballerina strikes a wearable tone in a soft grey shade, "Nube," and creamy white, "Avario." The laced model is slightly bolder, in an additional dark green colourway, "Loden", and bright yellow, "Topazio."

It's not just the silhouette of these shoes that's slightly out of the box for Miu Miu, but the fabrication, too. Both styles are made from a combination of technical fabric and suede. The former comprises Tela Tec fabric, woven in Italy, while the latter is the same soft suede we've come to know and love on other Miu Miu sneaker styles. Additionally, both the laced sneaker and the ballerina come equipped with optic white detailing at the heel and natural rubber soles — designed to mimic a car tyre.

As for how to wear the new pieces, you needn't look further than the accompanying campaign images, where both shoes are styled with Miu Miu's signature prep in mind, from slightly elongated socks, to slouchy tailoring and, of course, plenty of layering.

When will Miu Miu's Tyre sneakers and ballerinas be available?

There's still a while before you can get your hands — or should we say feet — on these. Both styles are currently available to pre-order via the Miu Miu website, thought they're yet to receive an official launch date. We'll keep you updated as we know more.

How much are they?

This is one detail that's not under wraps. The sneakers retail for AU$1700, while the ballerinas are slightly less, at  AU$1520.
