In the world of the sublime, the everyday is anything but ordinary. And for our March 'Sublime' issue, Miu Miu’s Spring Summer 26 collection becomes a meditation on the power of the working woman – her rituals, her resilience, and the beauty found in repetition. It's uniform and expression at once; a collection where the functional becomes deeply personal.
At the heart of the collection lies the humble apron – reimagined not as a symbol of duty, but of determination... resilience even. Here, model Mathilde Henning, shot by Mia Rankin and styled by Hannah Cooper shifts seamlessly between roles: layering workwear over swimwear, cinched against bare skin, or paired with tailored trousers and softened shirting. It speaks to a woman in motion (an offshoot perhaps of the having-a-life core trend we spoke about last year), one who exists between spaces – work and rest, strength and softness.
There is an inherent tactility to each look too. Crisp cottons. Worn leathers. Delicate scarves wrapped around heads and necks, as though tied instinctively before stepping out the door. Vests are stacked and unstructured, trousers sit with a lived-in slouch, and dresses feel loose and unperformative. Nothing feels overworked – instead, each piece carries the suggestion of a life already in progress.
The palette leans into nostalgia with a subversive twist. Hints of citrus, mint, and powdery florals are grounded by rich browns and softened neutrals, evoking both domestic familiarity and something altogether more liberated. Accessories follow suit – bags in supple suede and calfskin, leather boots marked by time, each detail reinforcing the narrative of wear, use, and memory.
Beauty remains undone, almost incidental apart from the occasional pop of colour. Hair is windswept, skin flushed, lips a vibrant blue or eyes painted candy pink. Somehow there is an effortlessness that defines the story: a portrait of modern femininity that resists perfection in favour of authenticity.
Here, the working woman is not defined by labour, but by her ability to transform it into something sublime.
