Our next New Moon lands in the early hours of Sunday morning. Expect it to fade from its final waning crescent at exactly 6:01am on 17 May AEST. This New Moon lands in the 25th and 26th degrees of Taurus, bringing with it a languid energy. Be ready to give yourself over to the comfort of supreme indulgence. Here's what to expect.
What to expect from the New Moon in Taurus
A Taurus New Moon is the ultimate moment for creature comforts. This is a moment for retreat, a spiritual cleanse as we come down from the height of the Aries stellium. Here, as the energy around us softens into something calmer, we're invited to reset and renew. Taurean energy is one that loves the bliss that comes with pure indulgent pleasures; good food, better wine and the comfort that comes with surrounding yourself with beautiful things. Be ready to feel the pull towards hedonism, the good kind.
The New Moon asks you to settle into yourself. If you've felt out of balance or off kilter, this moment in our Moon Cycle is here to remind us to ground ourselves. Breathe deep, let go of the emotional ties that have been weighing you. This might be a time that you need to physically retreat as well. Remember that the Moon rules over our inner and emotional selves, so we will feel this pull internally. It will be important to listen to what this is telling you; it can be subtler than other influences. Some quality time spent at home, free from obligations and stressors may be what you need to rediscover your internal equilibrium.
You will need to avoid finding your comfort purely in material items. While is it always nice to pamper yourself, remember that stress or anguish cannot be washed away with new purchases, cuisine or even by other people. With Taurus also lighting up Mercury, we'll be especially prone to communicating through pleasure seeking. But, looking for an emotional salve in the wrong places is not going to help you in the long run.
Remember that Pluto Retrograde has commenced for the year, which opens a gateway into a new phase. This slow moving retrograde is all about internal development and personal change, the leisurely yet more transformative kind. As a result, you will need to give yourself the space you require to be ready to face some inner challenges and sharp questions. Take this New Moon as a sign to pause and recharge, so you can approach the coming weeks with a clear mind and active intent.
Manifesting during the New Moon
If you're someone who follows the Moon Cycle, then you'll know that New Moons are widely considered the best time to manifest for the future. As this moment represents the energetic trough of the Moon's journey, this is the time to sow seeds of intention and recalibrate for the rest of the weeks ahead.
We've previously spoken to energy healer Chala Guzel who revealed to us that "you can actually harness the power of the Moon to influence your attitudes, relationships and energy levels." She says that manifesting in simple terms is about putting your energy towards an outcome that you hope will happen. "It’s about understanding what it is that you want for your own life experience, and then creating those outcomes."
One of her key pieces of advice for more successful manifestations is consistency. "When you manifest with the Moon each month, you’ll start to see your intentions come to fruition, given you maintain the rituals diligently. The end results are going to reflect the ongoing work of truly surrendering to the process."
