Looks like Mary Beth Barone is enlisting Ella Rubin and Joe Alwyn for her rom-com

If there's anyone I would trust with dating advice, it's Mary Beth Barone. And now, the comedian and actress is turning her expertise into her very own TV show.

Yes, between Ride, her Galaxy Brain comedy special, and season two of Overcompensating, Barone is treating us to another medium through which to consume her infinite wisdom. It's called Hard Feelings, and is a new rom-com series coming to Hulu from A24. The premise already has me obsessed (bleep it): she plays a dating consultant who spends her days teaching men how to communicate and process their emotions, only to repeatedly date men who possess neither skill.

What is Hard Feelings about?

She's not just the creator – Barone also stars in the series as Claire Ambrose, a New York City dating consultant who has made a name for herself teaching straight men the fundamentals of communication and emotional intelligence. Despite her day job, Claire's own dating life is lacking – she repeatedly chooses to date men who lack exactly the qualities she's paid to teach. Sounds familiar.

The series marks Barone's first time as both the creator and lead of a television show, bringing her particular brand of observational comedy to a longer-form format.

Who else is involved?

In even better news for Baronies, Barone's co-star is Benito Skinner, who has been cast in a supporting role.  If you don't already know (and you really should), the pair are longtime collaborators, from their hit podcast Ride, to Skinner's comedy Overcompensating, which Barone stars in and Skinner created.

As for who else is cast, a few recent sightings of Barone have sparked some theories. She's been spotted with Joe Alwyn in New York city several times, and recently the pair were also joined by Stirling Point breakout start Ella Rubin. Could something be brewing? I think so.

Behind the scenes, Scott King will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Barone, Skinner, Mackenzie Roussos and A24 will also executive produce the series.

When will Hard Feelings be released?

There is no release date for Hard Feelings just yet, but according to Deadline, the series has been put into fast-track development.
