After brooding his way through Thailand as the emotionally chaotic Saxon Ratliff, Patrick Schwarzenegger is taking a well-earned break from family trauma and tropical dysfunction. In fact, the actor is shifting gears entirely, and entering romance territory with Love Of Your Life.
He’s set to star opposite Margaret Qualley in the upcoming project, an Amazon MGM Studios film that’s already generating buzz thanks to its high-profile team and a script that caused a full-blown bidding war in Hollywood.
Here's what we know so far.
What is Love Of Your Life about?
Sadly for us, plot details are currently being kept tightly under wraps, but if the title is anything to go by, it's potentially very dramatic. What we do know is that the script generated serious buzz in the industry, igniting a bidding war before landing at Amazon MGM Studios. With a name like Love Of Your Life, we’re expecting a 2000s-esque take on romance, leaning into the kind of emotionally-charged storytelling that stays with you.
Who is involved?
Love Of Your Life brings together a strong team both in front of and behind the camera. The film will be directed by Rachel Morrison, best known for her cinematography work on Mudbound and Black Panther. The script is written by Julia Cox and is being produced by Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson under their production company, Open Invite Entertainment.
Margaret Qualley is set to star alongside Schwarzenegger, rounding out what's been a busy start to 2025 for the actress. She’s previously made a name for herself with memorable performances in Maid, Sanctuary, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and most recently premiered Honey Don't at Cannes film festival.
Schwarzenegger, meanwhile, is keeping the momentum going after earning widespread praise for his role in The White Lotus season three. His portrayal of Saxon Ratliff — the (largely) unlikeable eldest son of the Ratliff family — has quickly become a career-defining moment. He’s also appeared in American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, Gen V, The Staircase, The Terminal List, and Moxie, continuing to show range across genres. With this new role, he’s clearly leaning further into leading-man territory.
When does it premiere?
There’s no official release date yet, but with the casting now confirmed and buzz continuing to build, it’s safe to expect Love Of Your Life to begin production soon, likely eyeing a late 2026 premiere.
