What they’re wearing at London Fashion Week SS27

Londoners know how to get dressed, and nowhere is that skill more on display than at London Fashion Week. As the spring summer 2027 shows take over the city, the streets around them have become a runway of their own, brimming with end-of-summer layers and eccentric touches that feel distinctly London.

Of course, there’s plenty of reason to put some thought into your look if you’re attending London Fashion Week this season. Among them, Alexander McQueen is returning to the schedule under Seán McGirr, while Christopher Kane is making his debut at Mulberry. There are also big names including Burberry, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem and Simone Rocha, alongside rising stars such as Chopova Lowena, KNWLS and Ashley Williams.

Much like the names on the schedule, there’s a distinctly British sensibility to the street style this September. Trench coats, Wellington boots and plaid details (fittingly, many from Burberry and Barbour) are among the touches that remind you this is London we’re talking about. And no look is without a dash of personality – whether it be a statement accessory, an unexpected fur collar, a personalised bag or a particularly good pair of shoes. Londoners are willing to experiment, even when working with the most familiar wardrobe staples.

For those of us watching from Australia, there’s a useful seasonal flip happening, too. While London’s fashion crowd begins reaching for jackets and heavier layers, we’re heading towards warmer weather, making the lighter pieces, bare legs and transitional styling equally worth taking note of.

So as the festivities kick off, get acquainted with the best street style from London Fashion Week spring summer 2027, below.
