If you know Lola Tung, chances are you’ve spent a summer (or three) with her. The 22-year-old actress is best known for her role as Isabel “Belly” Conklin in The Summer I Turned Pretty which, as her first-ever acting credit, was a breakout role in every sense of the word.
Based on the popular novels by Jenny Han, the series introduced Tung as the lead in a coming-of-age story about teenage love, grief, friendship, and growing up. And now with its third and final season wrapped (and a surprise movie en route), the show has cemented Tung as one of Gen Z’s most recognisable faces on screen — and one of its most watched when it comes to style.
She works with stylist Britt Mccamey (whose also worked with the likes of Fred Hechinger, Sadie Sink, and Laura Harrier), and together they've built a red carpet repertoire of dreams. For the premiere of TSIP season three, Tung looked ethereal in a runway look from Ann Demeulemeester’s Spring Summer 2025 collection. And proving she has range, Tung then also cropped up carefully sourced vintage looks (often courtesy of The RealReal), and has been spotted front row at Balmain, Thom Browne, Sandy Liang, and Coach, quietly cementing her fashion-girl status. And finally, the finale of the series – and the days surrounding it — kept us fed, sartorially speaking, from a backless silver KaufmanFranco gown, to a Nina Ricci jumpsuit on the streets of Paris. On camera, her character has also had something of a fashionable glow up — from Zimmermann dresses to Reformation co-ords, while her love life might be in minor turmoil, Belly's wardrobe has never been chicer.
With her final summer at Cousins upon us in the form of a TSITP movie, there's no doubt that Tung is destined for big things — on screen and in fashion. She's already lined up a role alongside Emma Chamberlain, Lili Reinhardt, Victoria Pedretti, and Alexandra Shipp in what's being billed as a "witchy femme cult" film, Forbidden Fruits. And, with September fashion month just around the corner, we're feeling hopeful that Tung will crop up in the FROW of several runways.
So as we relish in the last of The Summer I Turned Pretty (and battle with mental gymnastics of who, exactly, Belly ends up with), there's no time like the present to look through the archives at Lola Tung's best fashion moments to date.
