I mean it whole heartedly when I say that Laneway Festival is one of my favourite music festivals. And after attending the last few years, I can confirm that they have never skipped a beat when it comes to the lineup.
And just like clockwork, our festival senses are tingling – meaning in the next few weeks, we should have the 2027 Laneway lineup. In mid-September last year, their 2026 lineup dropped, and as of 25 August, we've heard a few peeps from the official Instagram account with some pretty important information for Laneway Festival 2027.
So, without further ado, we've sniffed out every prediction we and the rest of the internet have gathered about who might be on the lineup, along with everything you need to know about the upcoming festival.
A leaked Fontaines D.C. tour poster might confirm they're on the lineup

Apparently a Perth tour poster got leaked, showcasing that Fontaines D.C. is touring Australia around the Laneway 2027 dates. Even better, Hayley William and This Is Lorelai are expected to open for the band on their tour, so perhaps we can expect those two will also be joining the Laneway lineup? While of course these posters aren't confirmed as real yet, this is a pretty strong prediction as these musical acts are very aligned for the festival.

Just announced their 2027 dates and locations. The tour begins in Sydney on Friday 12 February, Brisbane Saturday 13 February, Melbourne Friday 19 February and ends in Auckland on Sunday 21 February.
Laneway Festival will not be returning to Perth, Gold Coast and Adelaide in 2027

First things first, unfortunately after a five-month social media hiatus, the first post back was one that disappointed a few fans. Laneway Festival will not be touring Adelaide, Gold Coast or Perth in 2027. Why, you may ask? They explained that this is in order to "focus on making the festivals the best it can be, while freeing up time for more artists to bring headline shows to cities beyond our festival stops." The team also said that this isn't an official goodbye, but a see you soon.
Who do we predict will be on Laneway festival 2027 lineup?
Now to the good stuff. Laneway has always had a talent for pulling artists that are just on the precipice of massive stardom – or international artists that haven't toured Australia and New Zealand in quite some time. The festival is also no stranger to bringing back artists that have played in previous years. So with all the information in mind, these are the artists we're predicting (or at least hoping) will be on the 2027 lineup.

We know she was just in Australia, but hear us out. A fan snapped a picture at Slayyyter's recent Sydney concert, and it's of a sign that very clearly says she will be back in 2027. And what better to come back for than Laneway?

After wrapping up their Big city life 2026 tour this month in America, we could see Smerz returning to Australia after visiting for their tour earlier this year for Laneway 2027. They feel very aligned, and perhaps this is also a personal manifestation to see these girls on the lineup...

Personally, Mac DeMarco feels like a certain yes. He hasn't come to Australia since 2020, and just has finished his Europe tour after releasing his album Guitar in August 2025. Fingers crossed, because this would be the perfect addition to the 2027 lineup.

Our favourite goth girl. Having had the privilege to meet Violet Grohl two months ago when she paid a visit to Sydney, I can guarantee she is as sweet as her music. Perhaps when she was in Sydney she had a few meetings with Laneway Festival? She's never played in Australia, either, which makes her an even more compelling choice.

I can't describe this prediction, other than it's those music festival senses tingling with Lana Del Rey. Laneway has pulled Chappell Roan and Charli xcx, so I think they're more than capable of getting Lana Del Rey. Especially with a new album on the way, it makes sense. Originally set for Laneway 2024, Suki Waterhouse wasn't able to join the tour due to her pregnancy. But now, she is back on tour and it wouldn't surprise me if she made an appearance on the 2027 lineup.

Well, already fans are speculating and decoding every emoji, word and post on the Laneway Instagram account. One comment saying they think Olivia Rodrigo. However, I hate to break it to you – she will not be playing Laneway 2027 as her tour dates for the US are the same time as Laneway's 2027 dates.
Who else could be on the lineup?
We have lots of predictions. Too many to go into full detail, but judging by new music and who is trending at the moment, we think other predictions could be Sam Fender, Blood Orange, Lizzy McAlpine, Magdalena Bay, The Marias, DMA's, Adela, Florence Road, Lorde, Gracie Abrams, Folk Bitch Trio, and Ninajirichi.
When does Laneway Festival 2027 lineup drop?
Based off the date they dropped it last year (September 18), it's likely it will be in the next month. Be patient and check back here for news on the official lineup.
