Finally, after four long years, Lady Gaga is back to shake the music world to its glittering, shattered core.
Last week, pop juggernaut and fourteen-times Grammy winner chose mid-way through the 2025 Grammys to release her new song Abracadabra, and it's epic avant-garde music video.
The track is part of her upcoming seventh studio album MAYHEM, which is set to drop this Autumn. It’s a brazen re-entry into the chaos of pop, with Gaga describing it as a love letter to destruction, rebirth, and the strange beauty that lives in the mess. The kind of chaos only she can orchestrate.
Fans first caught wind of MAYHEM through a cryptic countdown on her website, complete with fractured mirror motifs and subtle callbacks to her previous eras. The album art cemented this vibe: Gaga, wild-haired and unapologetic, peers out from behind shattered glass, a visual metaphor for the album’s theme of breaking apart to rebuild. “MAYHEM started as me confronting my fear of revisiting pop,” Gaga confessed in a press release. “It’s about smashing the mirror and finding beauty in the shards.”

Of course, we've now been treated to Abracadabra, as well as the sultry, Grammy-winning duet Die With a Smile featuring Bruno Mars, a collaboration that has dominated the Billboard Global 200 for eight consecutive weeks. Another standout is Disease, a hypnotic, synth-heavy anthem praised by critics for its haunting vocals and sleek production.
If these early releases are any indication, MAYHEM promises a mix of powerhouse ballads, dance floor anthems, and experimental pop moments – classic Gaga, but elevated.
Who is going to be featured on the album?
The only collaboration we know for sure will appear in MAYHEM is Gaga's recent duet with Bruno Mars, Die With a Smile. Although we're pretty sure that won't be the only one. We're crossing our fingers for a reunion with Ariana Grande, or perhaps a duet with Chappell Roan?
