What to expect from June’s New Moon in Gemini

As we steadily approach the midpoint of the year, we meet our next New Moon. On Monday 15 June at exactly 12:54pm, we're greeted with a refreshing New Moon in Gemini. While we will have entered the pre-shadow period of Mercury Retrograde on 12 June, this is a chance to properly reset before tackling what the rest of the month has to offer. Here's what you need to know.

What to expect from the New Moon in Gemini

This New Moon is considered a "super" New Moon, as the Moon will be at some of its closest proximity to Earth. But a Super New Moon is not the same as a Super Full Moon. New Moons are an energetic reprieve, a gentle come down from the internal intensity and chaos that can often arise when the Moon is full. So, will a Super New Moon push your boundaries in the same way as a Super Full Moon? Not really. Expect this to feel every bit as cleansing as any other New Moon.

Under the influence of Gemini, this New Moon offers us the opportunity to be more receptive to the change around us. Gemini as an astrological sign is often too harshly judged. The sign of the twins is one that has a special talent for communications and relationships. It is also arguably the most adaptable sign of all the 12. Gemini energy is well equipped but also willing to change and adapt to the situations around them. It is a form of agile resilience that can be very useful in the modern era. In fact, you should feel very lucky if you have a Mercury or Saturn in Gemini.

This New Moon brings forth this fluid energy, allowing us to be open to the curve balls that could be thrown our way. No one likes a sudden narrative twist, but in this moment we are offered a chance to face our challenges head on and work with them, not against. This of this as a reset that allows you to embrace the twists and turns ahead and spin them into something that works in the interest of your own personal development.

We find ourselves still well within the bounds Gemini season, one of the most social periods of the year. It is natural to feel a pull to connect with people at this time – and especially since we'll also have Aries firing up Venus during this moment. But this desire for communication and connection does not always have to manifest itself in the desire to party. We do not always need to take this trait so literally. Especially as the New Moon beckons us to slow down and breath, the internal desire to "socialise" needs to be balanced in a way that fills your cup, rather than emptying it. Cosy, shared movies nights, intimate dinner parties, phone calls just to "check in" can all meet the need for connection without fraying your edges.

Ultimately, this will be an excellent moment to pause and allow yourself to recuperate. Remember, we have a Mercury Retrograde slowly approaching, officially hitting on 29 June.

Manifesting during the New Moon

Remember that New Moons are regarded – categorically – as the best time to manifest during the Moon Cycle. This is because the Moon's energy will be at its lowest. Plant your seeds of intention in this moment, and then watch at the Moon's increasing energy feeds them and allows them to flourish.

Manifesting can look different for everyone. Some choose to speak their manifestations aloud. Some prefer to write them in a diary. Either way the key thing to remember is that like calls to like. You must act and believe that your desires have already come true. If you want a promotion, tell yourself that you've already got it. If you're looking for love, live your life like you already have it.

Jim Carrey used to head up to the top of the Hollywood Hills and wrote himself a cheque for $10 million with a future date on it. Six months before he approached that date, he was offered one of his first leading roles for none other than $10 million.

Remember to always keep your intentions front of mind.
