At 5:43pm AEST on 11 June, the Full Moon arrives. For those in the Southern Hemisphere, this Moon marks the beginning of the winter months. But, for those in the Northern Hemisphere, this Moon is colloquially known as the Strawberry Moon. Not because it's pink in colour, but because this Full Moon typically marks the moment when berry bushes would start to bear ripened fruit.
Coming to us in Sagittarius, tonight's Full Moon offers to jolt us from the apathetic and dreary doldrums that have held us astrologically captive. If you've been feeling flat, this Full Moon is an energetic wake up. Optimism, new goals and a healthy dose of pleasure seeking are en route. Here's what you need to know about the June Full Moon.
What to expect from the June Full Moon in Sagittarius
In the 29.5 day Moon Cycle, the Full Moon represents the energetic peak. It can be a moment of heightened tension and moodiness. But it also offers illumination. Some might describe a Full Moon as almost a celestial mirror, a chance for you to see a true picture of yourself. Here, it can bring tensions to a head. Its sometimes painful but often there is a chance for a renewed awareness. Full Moons are also a point where any manifestations made at the New Moon may be ready for harvest.
But of course, the individual theme of each Full Moon is largely dependent on its astrological placement and the way it aspects the other planets. For June, we see our Full Moon appear in Sagittarius. This is a sign of optimism and opportunity. When new avenues present themselves, Sagittarius does not shut them down for fear of change or newness. This sign says yes; knowing that when you are open and willing, you allow new experiences and positivity to enter your life. Of course, not all new experiences are for the best. But Sagittarius understands that it is better to look forward and discover what is possible, rather than sit in a rut.
If you have been feeling largely apathetic or subdued, this Moon could be the kickstart you need. 2025 has seen a two strong Water -sign-dominated Full Moon that have left us feeling internally raw. But here, we experience a fresh sense of optimism for the future. This will be an enriching and nourishing Moon that feeds and heals our inner selves. Expect a new and enlivened desire for goal setting and actually feeling motivated by these goals. There could be a renewed thirst to throw yourself into your career, where previously you have felt exhausted. You could also have more energy for dating and meeting new people – especially with Venus sitting in Taurus, increasing our desire for hedonism and pleasure seeking.
The Sagittarius Full Moon is a reminder to be open to new experiences
Saturn, our disciplinarian and teacher moved into Aries at the end of May. It joins Neptune our spiritual and psychic guide, which moved into Aries in March. These are significant transitions. Aries as the first sign of the zodiac is one associated with new beginnings and a fresh starts. So, a Saturn and Neptune in Aries signals a changing social conscious, higher thinking and boundary-pushing personal growth. Alas, these deeply transformative planets are slow moving, and reaching the influential change they offer can sometimes feel like wading through molasses.
But our Sagittarius Moon offers us the inspiration we need to stick it out without frustration. A forever wanderer that feeds on the joy of spontaneity, Sagittarius can help us to understand that growth can only be found when we're open to trying a different path. Choosing the same situations – whether that be toxic friends, old relationships, unfulfilling work – will not contribute to higher learning.
Say yes to that last minute trip. Accept that party invite. Take that new job offer. Go on that date. It might not change your life, but when you say yes, you open yourself up in way you wouldn't if you'd said no. And its only when we're open, that we'll be truly able to accept positive movement in our lives.
