A24 seems determined to keep us all sleeping with the lights on, because they’re already deep into their next horror project – this time pulling together a cast that feels both delightfully unexpected and perfectly chaotic. If you've been itching for a bachelor-party-turned-horror with an ex-Hunger Games alumni at the helm. Well, good news. Here's everything we know so far about the latest film.
Who's in the cast?
As of today, we have four new names added to the lineup: Havana Rose Liu, Emma Corrin, Hunter Schafer and Sophie Wilde. They'll be joining the previously announced cast of Josh Hutcherson, Frank Dillane, Caleb Landry Jones, and Whitmer Thomas.
Hutcherson’s having a bit of a genre moment – between HBO’s I Love LA and gearing up for another Five Nights at Freddy’s, he’s leaning fully into roles that let him charm and crumble in equal measure.
Dillane brings that grounded intensity he’s known for, coming off Harris Dickinson's Urchin, Joan and a new Sense and Sensibility adaptation (which just wrapped filming this week). Landry Jones, who never seems to take a role that doesn’t require emotional acrobatics, arrives fresh from Luc Besson’s Dracula. And Whitmer Thomas – still riding momentum from Weapons – adds a slightly unpredictable edge.
What's the film about?
The plot is being kept secret at this point. But early whispers say the whole thing kicks off at a bachelor party that very quickly nosedives into full-blown terror. Kind of like a horror genre take on The Hangover? It sounds like we’re in for that classic A24 cocktail: unsettling atmosphere, psychological weirdness, and a group dynamic that unravels one frayed nerve at a time.
The still-untitled film, which will be directed by Arkasha Stevenson, is based on a script she’s co-written with Tim Smith. If those names sound familiar together, it’s because they just teamed up on First Omen, and apparently the experience was good enough (or unsettling enough?) that they’re jumping straight into round two. Stevenson is quickly becoming one of those genre directors everyone casually mentions as “one to watch,” and honestly, fair.
When's it coming out?
We don't know yet. At this rate, the film is still in early stages of casting and production, so we think it will be a while before it hits silver screens. Our best guess right now is a late 2026 or early 2027 release date.
