In a move that both surprises and excites the fashion world, Dior has announced that Jonathan Anderson will now oversee its womenswear collections, in addition to his role as creative director of menswear. This is the first time since Christian Dior that one singular designer has helmed all three lines within the brand. This news follows the recent departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri, who stepped down after a transformative nine-year tenure at the helm of Dior's women's lines.
Anderson, renowned for his innovative designs at Loewe and his own label JW Anderson, was previously appointed as the creative director for Dior Men in April 2025. His debut menswear collection for Dior is slated for presentation in Paris on June 27, 2025, and his first womenswear collection will show on October 1, 2025. With this expanded role, Anderson is set to bring his distinctive blend of avant-garde aesthetics and gender-fluid sensibilities to Dior's women's collections.
Delphine Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Dior Couture, states: “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan Anderson to lead the women’s and men’s creations of the House. I have followed his career with great interest since he joined the LVMH group over ten years ago. I am convinced that he will bring a creative and modern vision to our House, inspired by the fabulous story of Monsieur Dior and the codes he created. He will be supported by our teams and our incredible Ateliers who will bring his creativity to life.”
Jonathan Anderson adds: “It is a great honour to join the House of Dior as Creative Director of both women’s and men’s collections. I have always been inspired by the rich history of this House, its depth, and empathy. I look forward to working alongside its legendary Ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Delphine Arnault and Bernard Arnault for their trust and loyalty over the years.”

Chiuri's departure marks the end of an era characterised by feminist themes and a commitment to modernising Dior's image. Under her leadership, the brand saw significant growth and a reinvigoration of its women's lines. Her exit paves the way for Anderson to infuse new energy and perspective into the storied fashion house.
Anderson's appointment to both the men's and women's divisions positions him uniquely to craft a cohesive vision for Dior's future. His track record suggests a penchant for challenging traditional fashion norms, which could herald a bold new chapter for Dior. As the fashion industry watches closely, anticipation builds for how Anderson will reinterpret Dior's legacy through his innovative lens.
