How would you describe the smell of the British coastline? Briny? Untamed? Exhilarating but slightly sweet?
For Jo Malone London, the Cornish coast and Celtic sea was a well of inspiration for the latest fragrance within its cologne collection, Sea Salt & Bergamot. As a quintessentially English fragrance house, the new perfume makes so much sense. It borrows notes from the cult classic Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but incorporates bright bergamot and drift wood, giving it a fresher, slightly mineral finish.
Designed by perfumer Celine Roux (also behind Hinoki & Cedarwood from the Cologne Intense line), Sea Salt & Bergamot is designed to capture the feeling of crashing waves, cliffs, fields of flowers, wild ocean swimmers and fresh air that's thick with salt. "Over 15 years ago I was lucky to go on holiday to Cornwall, it was rainy, but I still enjoyed it because I loved the raw dramatic beauty of the cliffs and the waves," Roux shared via press release.

Jo Malone London is known for capturing British places, moods and feelings through single notes, note pairings and scent layering. Sea Salt & Bergamot is salty but energising alone, or you can add a mineral quality with a warm floral, like Peony & Blushed Suede, or English Oak & Hazelnut for woody elegance.
The scent has crunch and brightness – it's exhilarating, like the shocking seconds that follow the moment you jump into an icy body of water. Like most of the Jo Malone London fragrance library, Sea Salt & Bergamot is gender neutral – if anything, it has a more masculine facet than Wood Sage & Sea Salt. As mentioned, each fragrance can be worn alone or layered with other colognes for a scent that's uniquely your own.
Sea Salt & Bergamot also comes in 100ml, 50ml, 30ml and a 10ml mini for travel.
