Jacquemus’ new holiday season capsule has us dreaming in pink

In our opinion, we always need more Jacquemus in our lives, so the news that the french brand has released an entirely pink holiday season capsule is exciting to say the least.

The news was unexpectedly announced yesterday, December 1, via Instagram with a post that asked 'do you like pink?' in white text against a hot pink background. The capsule features 18 pieces of clothing and accessories in various shades of pink, from terry towelling bucket hats, Chiquito bags, flip-flops, keychains, and two-piece knitwear sets. Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus has released a series of imagery via his stories featuring the products alongside imagery of himself, classically in a field, sporting one of the pink hoodies available. He also posted images of himself in the same pink hoodie at Jacquemus HQ, wearing the holiday capsule flip-flops on his Camaleonda sofa.

The brand has gone as far as to change the brands instagram icon to a pink and white scheme, presumably to promotes the capsule. In terms of silhouettes, many of the pieces are signature to the brand, with knitwear mini-shorts and the ever-popular Le Chiquito. Some new additions are the heart-shaped flip-flops, various terry-towelling hats, and a clog-shaped mule. The collection feels relatively season-less, and while a fleece hoodie may not be Australian summer appropriate, the bucket hats and bum bags certainly will be.

It has been a notably big year for the brand in terms of releases, with a Spring Summer show that garnered worldwide attention as the rest of the globe cancelled their travel plans for the year, a second book release on the designers favourite pictures, a homewares collaboration in the form of plates with Daphne Leon, and a 90s themed FW20 campaign with his new puppy, TouTou.
