Over the years, IKEA has brought us some of the most sought-after homewares, thanks to their collaborations with designers who shift the way we think about homewares. From Virgil Abloh’s elevated minimalism to Gustaf Westman's bold colours and silhouettes, the Swedish furniture giant's imagination knows no bounds. Now, they’re doing it again, this time partnering with colourist, photographer and designer Tekla Evelina Severin, known simply as Teklan, for a collection that reimagines technology as something worth showing off in your home, not hiding away.

Set to launch globally from December 2025, the line brings light, sound and colour into the same playful universe. Below, everything you need to know.

What’s in the collection?

The collaboration is about making electronics feel warm, expressive and personal — not an afterthought you’d tuck behind the couch or hide in a cupboard. Below, discover the full Teklan x IKEA collection.

SOLSKYDD Bluetooth Speakers

This is a family of three speakers designed in collaboration with IKEA designer Ola Wihlborg. Each piece plays with Teklan’s signature palette, geometric graphics and a sense of movement:

• A small portable speaker in bright orange with a bold patterned front
• A medium-sized version in green with diagonal striping in brown and beige
• A large wall-mounted model in a textured orange finish, which can be paired with an accompanying screen

All can stand or hang, sync with other compatible IKEA speakers, and support Spotify Tap. Even when they’re switched off, they’re designed to act as art objects in your space.

KULGLASS Lamp Speakers

This is part lamp, part speaker. The silhouette is soft, rounded and almost cartoon-like, topped with a swirl-shaped shade inspired by soft-serve ice cream. Available in green and red-brown with pink, they’re designed to bring sound and warmth into the room at the same time.

FADO Table Lamp (Teklan edition)

A spotted take on IKEA's classic globe-shaped lamp. The form is simple, but the surface design gives it a playful, optical twist.

When is the collection launching?

The Tekla x IKEA line begins rolling out globally in December 2025, with exact dates varying by region. As always, local IKEA stores will confirm availability closer to launch.

About the collaboration

Teklan’s ability to balance softness with structure is at the heart of this collection, using unexpected palettes and clean geometry to make technology feel friendlier. “Colour can completely shift how we see an object,” she says. “We wanted to bring that softness into tech, so people can invite more colour into the spaces they use every day.”

For IKEA, the collaboration is part of a broader rethink of home electronics. Rather than designing speakers to blend into the background, they’re approaching them with the same intentionality as furniture, encouraging people to treat light and sound as part of a room’s visual language.
