Somebody check on Apple Martin. Her mum, Gwyneth Paltrow, has announced she's auctioning off part of her wardrobe, and we can only hope that the 21-year-old got to raid it before it was opened up to the public.
The actor, entrepreneur and perennial style reference point is selling off a curated selection of pieces from her personal archive, offering fans the chance to own everything from red carpet gowns to designer handbags, and even Coldplay memorabilia. Here's how you can steal a little bit of Paltrow's style.
Where to shop Gwyneth Paltrow's wardrobe
The auction will be hosted online through Julien’s Auctions, and goes live on March 24.
There are more than 500 lots already available to browse. Titled “Bold Luxury: Gwyneth Paltrow Lexicon of Style & The Archival Edit,” the collection is a visual archive of Paltrow’s evolving aesthetic — from 90s minimalism to her signature quiet luxury polish.
What's available?
Among the highlights are classic Hermès Birkin bags, vintage designer dresses, signed photographs and select Goop-branded pieces. There are archival red carpet looks that will spark instant nostalgia for anyone over the age of 25, including an ombré Versace gown worn to the 2010 Country Music Awards and a 2003 colour-block mini dress, also by Versace.
While her iconic Ralph Lauren gown from the 1999 Academy Awards remains in her personal archive (and rightly so, if you ask us), Paltrow is parting with original design illustrations from that look, which is something of a rare collector’s item in its own right.
There are also several ore personal pieces up for auction, including a Jennifer Meyer pendant necklace engraved with the initials A, C and M — a nod to her children, Apple and Moses, and ex-husband Chris Martin. There are also vintage Coldplay items up for grabs, including promotional photographs and accessories linked to her former husband’s band.
How much will each piece be?
Obviously we won't know the exact prices until the sale officially begins, but the current online estimates start at $50, and range all the way up to $25,000 USD.
In good news, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to World Central Kitchen.
