We really are a bit obsessed with Odessa A’zion – between I Love L.A. and Marty Supreme – she's fast becoming one of Hollywood's favourite screen darlings in 2026. And while we're still really banking on her kick-starting her music career for real, she's definitely not heading away from the world of the silver screen any time soon. In fact, she's stepping into the spotlight once again, this time leading an exciting new psychological thriller, Fonda, according to Deadline. Known for her Oscar-winning work on Anatomy of a Fall, acclaimed director Justine Triet is making her English-language debut with this project, and it’s already generating plenty of buzz. Here's what we know so far...
What is the film about?
Fonda is described as a psychological thriller set within a seemingly perfect, enclosed environment. But beneath that calm surface, things quickly unravel. The story dives deep into the fragile nature of the human mind, exploring themes of grief, obsession and emotional instability. Expect a tense, immersive experience that gradually blurs the line between reality and perception, pulling viewers into what’s been called a “vertiginous” psychological descent.
Who is in the cast?
Alongside Odessa A'zion, the film boasts a seriously impressive ensemble. Rising British actor Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon, Wuthering Heights) joins the lineup, along with Emmy-winning performer Cherry Jones and fan-favourite Benedict Wong.
Previously announced names include our Dior darling Mia Goth, Andrew Scott, Frank Dillane and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett. Plus, Oscar winner Allison Janney is now officially confirmed to star, adding even more star power.
When will it be released?
While an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, Fonda is scheduled to begin filming between April and June of this year. That likely points to a release sometime in 2027, depending on post-production and festival premieres. The film is backed by major players including Studiocanal and MK2 Films, with distribution planned across multiple territories such as Australia, France and the U.K.
