Owen Cooper has found his next gig, ‘Film Club’

At just fifteen years old, Owen Cooper has had what most would describe as a year for the books. Now, fresh off his history-making, record-breaking Emmy win, British actor Owen Cooper has just signed up for his next project, Film Club.

With his breakout series Adolescence gaining an astounding 140 million views within the first three months of its release, his newest role has big shoes to fill. Luckily, he's in good company for the task: Aimee Lou Wood, who has proven her acting prowess with recent roles in The White Lotus and Sex Education, has not only scored a role in the new BBC sitcom, but also had a hand in writing it.

Below, everything you need to know about Film Club – the six-part series we can't stop talking about.

What is Film Club about?

The series is a rom-com drama by genre, grounded in themes of love, friendship and family relationships, following two film-buff friends as they navigate their unspoken feelings towards one another. Protagonist Evie (played by Wood) hasn’t left her home in six months and finds solace in watching films, particularly with her best friend Noa (played by Nabhaan Rizwan).

Wood doesn't just star – the series also marks her screenwriting debut, alongside Ralph Davis, who you might recognise for his on-screen role in House of the Dragon
