We’ve decoded the biggest difference between February and March Pisces

February vs March Pisces

If you’re a Pisces, chances are you’re already aware that you’re in good company. With two months under the Pisces banner—from February 18 to March 20, to be exact—everyone born in this water sign is united by the same intuitive, dreamy qualities, but with subtle differences in how those traits manifest. So, what sets a February Pisces apart from a March one? Let’s investigate.

How (and why) do February and March Pisces differ?

While both February and March Pisces share a fluid, emotional energy and an innate sense of empathy, their differences lie in how they channel that energy. How and why this happens all comes down to the concept of zodiac decans.

According to this logic, the zodiac wheel consists of 360 degrees, where each of the 12 zodiac signs takes up 30 degrees on this wheel. Then, each zodiac sign is further broken down into three segments – or decans – which are made up of 10 degrees each. One degree is equivalent to one day. So, the first 10 days or degrees of a sign make up the first decan, and so on.

Personality traits of a February Pisces, explained

February Pisces tend to exude a more introspective, sensitive energy. They’re the quiet daydreamers, reflecting deeply on life, and typically seeking time to themselves to recharge. Born at the tail end of the Australian summer, February Pisces tend to have a mystique about them—detached in a way that invites curiosity but leaves much to be discovered. But don't mistake their aloofness for boredom: their inner world is so rich and vivid that it’s almost impossible for others to fully understand.

When it comes to relationships, February Pisces can sometimes struggle with boundaries. Their compassion and empathy know no limits, but this makes them vulnerable to absorbing the energies of others—something that can leave them feeling drained.

Personality traits of a March Pisces, explained

By the time March rolls around, Pisces has fully embraced the energy of transition, making March Pisces  often more outwardly expressive and outgoing than their February counterparts. March Pisces are natural-born romantics, as well as deeply creative and highly attuned to their artistic side.

While both February and March Pisces are intuitive, March Pisces are often more decisive and action-oriented. They’re dreamers, but they back their dreams up with the drive to bring them into reality. This makes them more likely to leap headfirst into new opportunities or relationships, following the current of their heart without hesitation.

In relationships, March Pisces bring warmth, affection, and an openness to new experiences, though they’re also deeply sensitive—sometimes to the point of being easily overwhelmed. But, they have a resilience that allows them to bounce back time and again, no matter how a relationship turns out.
