Silk Laundry announces the return of its Global Art Prize

Australian label Silk Laundry has announced the return of its global Art Prize for 2026, inviting emerging and established photographers to capture the natural world through this year’s theme, Sacred Earth. Entries are open now through August, with monthly artist spotlights, a public exhibition in October, and the winner announced November 1.

Country to Couture 2026 lineup announced

For the very first time, Country to Couture will take place across two nights – 2 and 3 August 2026 – on the beautiful lands of Larrakia Country, at Charles Darwin University. The full lineup for this year's event has been announced online, including LULUJARU, Jaymee-Lee Chaquebor, Marnin Studio, Corella & Crow and Bábbarra Women’s Centre.

Burberry hosts cocktail event to celebrate The Trench at Sydney boutique

Burberry this week hosted a cocktail event at its George Street store in Sydney to celebrate the House’s enduring icon, the Burberry trench coat. Bringing together clients, local VIPs, press and members of the creative community like Bryn Chapman‑Parish, Gemma Ward, Lincoln Younes, Madeleine Madden, and Marlo Kelly, the evening placed the trench at the centre of an immersive experience reflecting Burberry’s heritage and continued evolution.

Gentle Monster reopens at David Jones Sydney

The global eyewear brand has reopened its space on the main floor of David Jones Sydney this week. Now twice its original size, the space features a Giant Head Kinetic Object – an art installation at the heart of the new store by Gentle Monster Robotics Lab, which softly blinks and shifts its eye line – and a Star Object, whose evocative presence explores emotion, and the unseen layers of identity.

Building on nearly two centuries of excellence, the brand unveiled an extensively redesigned HydroConquest collection that blends contemporary aesthetics with proven performance on the picturesque shores of Wategos beach.

Maison Margiela holds first Shanghai Fashion Week runway show

Margiela's FW 2026 show in Shanghai brought together ready-to-wear and Artisanal collections. The fashion house took over a massive shipyard and turned it into "an after-hours Parisian flea market". The show kicks off the House's MaisonMargiela/folders activation – a 12-day activation featuring free public exhibitions across Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.

Loro Piana celebrates its first boutique in Australia

Loro Piana celebrated the opening of its first boutique at Westfield Sydney this week with an intimate cocktail and dinner at one of Sydney’s leading private residences. The evening marked a significant milestone in the House’s history and paid homage to Australia – where the Maison has sourced Merino wool since the 1960s.
