There’s a particular kind of ease defining fashion right now – one that feels considered rather than casual, refined rather than overt. At Australian Fashion Week, that sensibility revealed itself not only through silhouette and styling, but through the pieces grounding the looks themselves.
Sydney-founded footwear label EVERAU has long occupied the space between comfort and craftsmanship, becoming known for its elevated approach to sheepskin footwear and understated luxury. Rooted in the Australian lifestyle yet designed with a distinctly modern sensibility, the brand’s focus on tactile fabrication, warmth and wearability made its presence at AFW feel instinctive rather than incidental.
At NAGNATA, softness and structure moved in conversation with one another. Technical knitwear was layered beneath crisp shirting, sculptural outerwear offset streamlined active silhouettes, and tactile textures brought warmth to the runway. Amongst it all, EVERAU emerged as an understated anchor – integrated directly into the styling of the brand’s Movement 21 presentation during Australian Fashion Week.

The result felt emblematic of fashion’s current shift toward elevated wearability: luxury rooted not in excess, but in comfort, texture and intention.
For RUSSH's Content Director Elyssa Kostopoulos, it was the show's layered styling approach that lingered long after the final show.
“I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from the NAGNATA runway into my own wardrobe, particularly the way the collection explored layering and texture,” she says. “There was structured shirting styled amongst activewear, funnel-neck knits layered against soft fabrication, and then the suede sheepskin texture in the footwear. I've already integrated this into my own wardrobe, accepting the change in weather and leaning on my EVERAU Creago slippers to bring warmth to each look. I love that the moccasin silhouette feels refined in shape, while still remaining completely relaxed.”

RUSSH's Fashion Assistant Koby Dulac-Daley was similarly drawn to the way EVERAU softened NAGNATA’s active styling language. “I loved how the shoes were styled with activewear at NAGNATA – it felt like such a refined interpretation of off-duty dressing,” he says. "I'm particularly obsessed with the Mouni style that went down the runway. They're next on my wishlist."

Elsewhere throughout the week, EVERAU’s presence extended beyond the runway itself. Backstage at L’IDÉE WOMAN, models prepared for the brand’s Iconique presentation wearing EVERAU’s forthcoming AW26 styles – a quiet moment of comfort before stepping into L’IDÉE’s world of fluid draping and sculptural occasionwear.
The contrast felt especially compelling: polished eveningwear softened by an emphasis on ease behind the scenes.
“Taking inspiration from backstage at the L’IDÉE show during Australian Fashion Week, I’ll be wearing my EVERAU with a silk robe while getting ready before a night out,” says Dulac-Daley.
“Ever since spotting EVERAU backstage at the L’IDÉE show, I’ve been inspired to bring that same sense of effortless comfort into our office space with my own Earlova pair,” adds Samantha Corry, RUSSH's Social Media Coordinator and Writer. “Chic in a chocolate hue, yet incredibly wearable, shoes have never felt quite so good this winter.”

What made EVERAU’s AFW presence resonate wasn’t simply its visibility across two of the week’s most distinct presentations, but the way the brand naturally aligned with fashion’s broader movement toward tactility and understated luxury. Whether styled on the runway or worn backstage, the footwear became part of a larger conversation around how we want fashion to feel now.
The idea of elevated comfort continues to hold weight – less trend-driven than instinctive. Soft textures, grounded silhouettes and pieces designed to move seamlessly between ritual and routine. The kind of wardrobe sensibility that lingers long after the runway lights dim.
