The homewares the ‘RUSSH’ editors are coveting in March

Homewares and interiors inspiration are always a topic of conversation at the RUSSH office. Our thought for March? Stainless steel and chrome is a lifestyle, never forget lighting and always have reading material within arms reach. Here are the homewares we are coveting in March.

My wishlist has been full of homewares this month – where do I start?

IN BED’s One Of A Kind collection with Kateri has been on my mind and I need to act fast. Their Bed Cover #2 in particular. Also for the bedroom, I’m in need of a new lamp. This one from Ellison Studios has been a long-term wishlist item.

Moving into the living room, I’ve been in need of a TV unit for some time and if I’m brave enough, this Olive RJ Living Muse Entertainment Unit will be mine. I’m doing my best to bring life into my home and colour is a great way to do it.

Brown is one of my favourite colours and is undoubtedly the colour of the year – so the Jean De Side Table in Cocoa from MCM HOUSE will be a delicious addition, a perfect home for my ‘TRY TO CATCH IT’ Voices of Australian Creative Minds Book.

A restock of my current favourite candle is in order – the Jo Malone’s English Pear & Freesia Scented Candle. Lastly, I’ve just got my hand on some FLAMINGO ESTATE handwash, sitting pretty at my kitchen sink and it is so wonderful – highly recommended.

My kitchen is my happy place, and lately I’ve been feeling the need to simplify. I love MUJI for their Stainless Steel Trays which I have found are endlessly useful, as are the Service Projects Ice Cream Cups. For more fun, I’m loving the Dinosaur Designs Medium Branch Bowl in Juniper which i think would be so fun for tablescaping or general fruit storage, and for an autumn scent – LOEWE Small Cypress Balls Candle.

There may be a theme happening here… When it comes to my home, stainless steel has taken over the wishlist. From this aesthetically pleasing Georg Jensen water bottle, to Service Project’s sleek cup and saucers, and the groundbreaking Our Place Titanium Pro, these pieces all seamlessly blend form and function. Jo Malone’s new townhouse collection for home is exactly what I want on my shelves. Their Green Tomato Vine candle scent is fresh and verdant, evocative of holiday memories. I also always appreciate Diptyque for their heritage design and rich fragrances. Lunamaris grabbed my attention, both the beautiful bottle and fragrance, inspired by mother of pearl, and the gentle reflections of the moon on the sea. You can probably tell I’m a Piscean!

A miracle happened in my kitchen, I now have a brand-new, full-sized functioning fridge. Naturally, I return to my obsession with my kitchen and desire to become my friend’s and lover’s favourite cook. My final form. I’ll be adding France The Cookbook to my kitchen library and putting a bottle of Ruinart in the fridge for the next guests. I would love a wall clock to time my oven by, but it’s proving surprisingly hard to find one to my taste. Part of me would love a vintage zodiac clock, but another part of me yearns for simplicity of black and white Roman numerals. I am also in need of a knife sharpener, and I feel it’s time to go electric, so I’m looking at this number by Kai. Do I need more vases? No, but I do covet them, so this Poltrona Frau vase is on my wishlist as is this Virgin Mary Olive Oil bottle for no other reason than it is silly and fun.

Thinking about and wish-listing homewares is definitely my favourite pastime. I’d do anything to be the proud owner of this ribbed lamp (Mantel is a London-based curator of vintage homewares; their Instagram is the ultimate moodboard). But this one from Curated Spaces is just as beautiful and in the country. A win. As the ‘RUSSH’ beauty editor it is my responsibility to tell you that Trudon have launched hand wash — a must-have for your kitchen sink. On the topic of home scent, I am very partial to my candle collection. I love Byredo Treehouse — rumour has it, they burn it in Khaite boutiques — as well as Aesop Ptolemy. It smells like the forest. I need a console or bar for an empty wall at home, and I’ve been searching all over. I love the woven detail of this dBohdi dresser from Trit House. I’ll have to check the measurements…

I have an obscene glass collection and make no apologies for it. I am constantly adding to it and these cocktail glasses from SZKLO are the next buy. Keeping in the kitchen, I am slowly replacing everything plastic, especially chopping boards. This one by Peer Sorensen has such a beautiful grain and looks like it will last a lifetime if treated well.

One of my favorite places in my neighbourhood is the most gorgeous vintage store called 506070. They just got a new European shipment in and I’m dreaming of this Joe Colombo chair although my bank account will be happier if I settle for a new Gaetano Pesce vase instead. If I buy a vase, I need flowers, obviously, so will have to stop by Grandiflora to pick up some blooms.

After months of searching I’ve finally found some coffee mugs I like in the form of these Anna + Nina babies. The brief was big enough to use for iced coffee, but also not boring and these are perfect. I also recently stumbled across a range of 70s inspired ceramics from HK Living that I immediately fell in love with. I’ve already purchased the curry bowls, but am planning on adding the pasta bowls and maybe even the matching coffee mugs to use on the rare occasion I drink tea.

Having spent some time sourcing the perfect vintage pieces for my house I’m ready to add some statement modern touches. Firstly this chubby chrome mirror to go in my entryway, and potentially even a matching chrome side table to tie it into the rest of the house. I’ve also recently realised how happy Klein blue makes me so am wanting to incorporate some touches of it. This Morrison Hannah chair for my desk feels like a good start.
