Winter has settled in, and with it comes the quiet urge to recalibrate our spaces. This month, the RUSSH editors are leaning into mood lighting, tactile textures, and homewares that feel equal parts practical and beautiful. Some of us are starting fresh (hello, first apartment), while others are refining the corners we already know and love. From sculptural side tables to tortoiseshell salad servers, our June picks reflect the way we’re living right now – indoors, intentionally, and always with an eye for design.

Homewares are my one true kryptonite in life and Service Projects’ new Stainless Steel Pasta Plates are IMO the perfect winter dinner party plate. If you're looking for a chicer alternative to the Kartell Componibli plastic bedside tables, I’ve recently spied this Rachel Donath Vernier Round Side Table that has a really similar build and shape with a warm, grainy Burl finish (personally I love the Tabac). For a home scent, I recently went into MECCA and found myself captivated by TSU LANGE YOR’s Sassafras Candle. It’s smokey, leathery and sooo sultry. A definite winner for a cold, rainy winter night at home. At the office, we recently acquired an Our Place Wonder Oven, which has quickly become our favourite new gadget (honestly, anything that allows us to bake fresh cookies each day is a win in our eyes).

Now that the cold weather has set in, I’m refusing to leave my apartment and entertaining at home instead. So, my homewares wishlist this month is all about levelling up my home entertaining game. My go-to technique is to lay a big tablecloth over my coffee table and lay out a huge charcuterie and cheese board. It’s a crowd-pleaser every time. I’ve been eyeing off these scalloped bowls from Alex & Trahanas. I think they’re the perfect vessels for dips and olives. To keep things cosy, this couch throw from Bed Threads is perfect. After food is done, I love to light some incense, and while I currently have several boxes, I don’t actually have a nice incense holder. I’ve been eyeing off this faux oyster shell one since Christmas, I think I’m just going to finally buy it. I’m also eyeing a few other statement home accessories on Net-a-Porter to keep my apartment pretty. Browsing the Net-a-Porter home section is a beloved pastime of mine and I just stumbled on this glass vase that I’m obsessed with. Finally, I think a luxe hand soap is key to entertaining. It’s a small luxury that I truly think makes a difference. I currently use the Grown Alchemist ones.

I just spent the long weekend doing a lot of sorting, organising and improving my space. Wardrobes were cleared, windows were washed… After many false starts, I am finally getting the plans in order to renovate my kitchen, so it felt right to get rid of any clutter. Naturally, I need new kitchen stuff to fill the new kitchen, namely this dinner set from In The Roundhouse, and these Sophie Lou Jacobson wine glasses I clocked on TikTok and haven’t been able to stop thinking about since. In my dreams, I would also be the proud owner of these Gohar World salad hands. I can’t think of a better way to serve radicchio dressed in lemon juice and EVOO…
I also recently acquired a beautiful marble plinth from Fleur Studios and need a vase to sit on top of it. None of my pewter or silver vessels look big enough, so I’m lusting after this ceramic piece from Tamsin Jonhson, instead. Also a hot tip from me — some of my finest vase/vessel purchases have come from Vinnies and Mitchell Road Antiques in Alexandria…

I’m in need of a coffee table and this Curve Marble Coffee Table - Earth Marble from RJ Living would be perfect in my living room. It’s also on sale, so the time is now.
A long standing wishlist item is a USM Haller Sideboard. I’ll have to visit ANIBOU in Sydney to see the colours in person but I love either the golden yellow or beige colour options.
I frequently browse Cultiver (linen just does that to me), and I think I’m going to pick up a couple of these Fia Kitchen Towels. The pine colour is divine.
My LO&CO kitchen handles are gorgeous, so I’ve decided to pick up a couple coat hooks for my entry foyer and mudroom/laundry. Specifically, the Sphere Hook in Aged Brass in both the XL size and standard size.
I’d love a statement candle to sit on my entertainment unit under my TV. The LOEWE PERFUMES Orange Blossom large scented candle would be a treat to all senses. I find candles in winter are always necessary – warms the soul, if not the room.
Lastly, I’ve long dreamt of committing to some Our Place pans and the Always Pan Duo in the steam colourway is still in my cart (and wishlist).

With EOFY sales coming up I’ve been working hard to put together a list of everything I’ve been putting off buying in the home department. First off a rug for my living room and winter has me leaning towards warm tones. I saw this beautiful clay coloured one at the RJ Living Hawthorn showroom opening last week and have not been able to stop thinking about it. This statement red lamp would tie it in perfectly to the rest of the room. I’ve also been looking for the perfect mood lighting for my hallway, and these shadow wall sconces definitely fit the brief.
In an ideal world I would be splurging on these incredible Completedworks wine glasses, but I will very happily settle for the tumbler glasses instead as they fit within my budget constraints. A set of salad servers has also been on my list and I think these tortoiseshell ones are so fun. Last but not least, a new coffee table book because I’ve realised I don’t have nearly enough. This Prada archive one will add to the warm tones I’ve started bringing into my living room.

I am finally looking to move into my very own apartment! But as all the appliances and cooking utensils seem to belong to my roommates, I am now needing to furnish and stock an entire apartment… A daunting task! I know that at the very least I am going to need an airfryer, and this Breville one looks like it would shine bright on my kitchen counter as a fairy godmother to watch over and help make my cooking better. As a strapped-for-time person, I’ll be looking to cook a lot of one-pot wonders, so why not do this in my own Le Creuset cast iron casserole dish? I also need all the absolute basics like cutlery, cups and plates – these In The Roundhouse plate sets seem like the perfect beginner option. I have to buy alllll the big ticket items like a fridge, washing machine, dryer etc, but the one I’m most looking forward to is the couch! For the first time, I can choose my own couch which is a big deal, and this MCM House one is really calling my name.

I can’t get enough of stainless steel, and this Palermo side table by Fleur Studios has caught my eye. I love the idea of it by the sofa, the perfect spot for a cup of tea and a few pages of my book in the afternoon sun. It’s also the perfect spot for my new Trudon Cire candle – a beautiful gift with a unique fragrance which also supports the saving of Orne Dark Bees in Europe. I have to say, the HENNE boutique in Paddington influenced me on this one… I adore The Mush Table Lamp by Kilzi. I can think of so many spots around the house for this special piece. Lastly, a luxury hand wash is such a nice touch for this time of year, and I can’t go past Byredo for their minimalist aesthetic when it comes to my bathroom or kitchen sink. I love this Suede fragrance in particular.
