If you looked inside our wardrobes right now, you’d find tailored shorts, mesh flats, linen trousers and silk camis in steady rotation. The pieces we’ve reached for without overthinking, styled a dozen different ways and worn from beach to dinner. Below, the RUSSH team share what’s been defining our summer wardrobes – and what we’re still tempted to add before the season shifts.

Summer footwear can be difficult as someone who prefers to keep toes out of sight, but boat shoes, I’ve realised, are the answer. These Alias Mae Teddy boat shoes in Walnut Wax are impeccable and easy to wear to both office and beach-side. I’ve had my eye on the Library Science Namesake tee for a while (white tees are a summer uniform). POSSE’s Pearl Cami in Berry Choc Polka Dot is for a hot day, and obviously, a great hat – I’m particularly obsessed with this brown canvas Bucket Hat from Lack of Colour.

This summer, I’ve been leaning into fun, feel-good pieces. The corset and matching skirt from Sister Studios have been on high rotation. I've long admired the Melbourne-based brand for its playful silhouettes and bold designs.
I’ve also loved experimenting with colour and texture this season, something Bec + Bridge does so effortlessly. This halter has become my go-to summer throw-on, perfect for beach days and beyond. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve had a single day this summer without wearing thongs. These red jelly sandals have been my favourite pop of colour, taking me from casual outings to more dressed-up moments.
When it comes to summer makeup, Merit has been the hero. Their lip trio has been a total lifesaver on hot days, the perfect low-effort cover when I want to skip heavy makeup. I’m officially a balm-blush convert, with the formula melting seamlessly into my skin and holding up beautifully in the heat.

As a forever beach goth, I’ve been sticking to my darker palette but with lighter fabrics, ridiculous sunglasses and my non-negotiable sunscreen.
I love a maxi skirt, and if I could, I would wear this Saint Laurent number with everything from t-shirts to corsets, sandals to boots. I’m a little averse to most open-toed sandals so have been leaning more into little ballet flats over my traditional black boots. I love the Simone Rocha ones for a flash of silver, but the MM6 black versions are perfect with everything.
I got some second-hand Loewe sunglasses that I have been living in for summer but have been coveting their green cat-eyes to add to the collection. When not in black, I honestly don’t think there is anything sexier in summer than a white ribbed singlet and the Silk Laundry tank is perfection.

I'm a lover of basics, especially for summer days where you want to throw something on and go.
St. Agni's Organic Cotton Ballerina Top is a great cut and very comfortable, easy to dress up and down. Denim is a summer favourite. A couple of denim jeans I often turn to are FAITHFULL's Straight Jean in Ecru and Levi's® Women's 501® '90s Jeans.
For something feminine, I've loved the Anniken Maxi Dress from FAITHFULL this summer. Another dress in my cart, which I'd love to turn to while the warm weather lasts, is this gorgeous (and basic, she is not) CICELY DRESS IN PEACH SORBET from DÔEN – very Wuthering Heights-esque.
These Nelson Made Lou Mesh flats have almost been a daily shoe for me and go with everything. A wishlist pair that gives the same energy is the Miu Miu Mesh fabric ballerinas. Lastly, I've enjoyed mixing silver with gold this season and have loved Arms Of Eve's Dragon Gold Chain Necklace and HEAVEN MAYHEM's silver Baby Knot Earrings.

I’ve just come back from a few days on the Gold Coast, so I feel very much in tune with Summer dressing. I recently got my hands on the most perfect silk cami from Venroy which I can’t wait to wear. I think it would go perfectly with a pair of their crushed satin pants, or even a great pair of denim (these ones, by Beare Park are my current faves) for something more casual.
Shorts have been the MVP of my wardrobe this summer. I love a tailored style like these SIR ones, paired with a simple tank — Flore Flore is my go-to for these. I also love this Matteau pair styled with an oversized shirt and a bikini, or a heel for something a little dressier.
Accessories-wise, I don’t think you can go past these Flowze sandals in brown. And I’m quite obsessed with a white ballet flat for the summer months — it feels a little lighter than the typical black or brown. I’m also working on building up my ear stack — I think there’s something so chic about a mismatched collection of earrings. Currently eyeing off this and this, both by Covetear. And a little out of my comfort zone, but this bandana by Faithfull is so cute.
Last but certainly not least, I recently wore this Lee Mathews dress to the AACTAs and I don’t think there’s ever been anything more beautiful. It would be so perfect for a summer wedding guest look.

I thrive in the warmer months, as I don’t like to overthink my outfits and prefer to keep things minimal. Venroy is a go-to for easy wearing pieces. I love how this pin-tuck cami and cotton-poplin short look when paired together, or dresses like this one from Matteau and this from Peony feel effortless with a simple thong and delicate gold bracelet (this one from Pandora is perfect).
I love practical pieces for beach-to-bar moments. A sarong, like this one from Elka Collective, is the perfect size to play around with as a top or skirt. Eres’ swimsuits (some of the most flattering in the market) can also double as a bodysuit, making them a pragmatic investment.
I already have a Lemaire croissant bag, but feel like this netted one would be a great supplement for my Summer rotation. And I’m always looking for new sunglasses — very into this tortoiseshell pair from Bottega.

I basically lived in denim cut offs this summer and still wear my Rollas from three seasons ago. The placement of the pockets is really flattering. I also got so much wear out of my All For Mimi tank in Latte. As a busty girl, it’s very liberating to go bra-free and these offer just the right amount of support. My Pete Pareo tee was the perfect beach cover up, it was either that or my Ilio Nema sarong. I also got a tonne of wear from this pair of Faithfull pants. I really love their linen pants and I have a few pairs already but this chocolate brown is so versatile. They paired beautifully with my bag of the summer which was the Polène Numero Dix in Midnight Blue.
My favourite shoes of the summer were the Jo Mercer Reggie flats. And I can’t deny that I wore my CSB ballet wraps to nearly every Pilates class. I have the style in three colours because I just never stop wearing them. As for skin, it was Merit’s lip liners which I think are the perfect tool to create a Nina Park lip, and then just Raie Sun Milk Drops on the skin with whatever blush I was feeling on the day.
