The light moves like silk over the sand, the first lights of dawn pooling in the folds of Dior Men SS25. There’s something about the way the fabric breathes – weightless, yet commanding – like a second skin shaped by the air itself. Styled by Charlotte Agnew and captured through the lens of Anna Victoria Best, this is retreat as reverie, a moment caught between presence and disappearance.
Kim Jones understands the power of escape. The collection speaks in soft contrasts: sculptural tailoring met with the ease of the elements, storm-swept neutrals settling into washed blues and desert dusk hues. Model Codey Scopes wears it like a traveler on the edge of the world – unburdened, at ease, yet still carrying something with him. A memory, a longing, a pull toward the horizon.
In the quiet, the garments take on a life of their own. A fluid trench billows like a sail in motion. A sheer knit clings to the body like water to skin. The House’s signature suiting is stripped back, as if to say that refinement isn’t about structure, but about feeling. And here, in this in-between place – between the earth and the infinite sky – feeling is everything.
Best’s lens catches Scopes in contemplation, the kind of stillness that can only exist after movement. Light tugs at the hem of his shirt, carving shadows along the pleats of his trousers. This is what retreat looks like: the shedding of excess, the return to self, the embrace of simplicity in its most exquisite form.
