Charli xcx is not one to sit still. Fresh from her Sicillian wedding (on Tonnara di Scopello, no less), the pop icon has jolted us back to reality with new music to accompany Emerald Fennel's forthcoming Wuthering Heights adaptation. Even better? There's a whole new album set to follow suit. Let's investigate.
Is Charli xcx gearing up to release new music?
In short, yes. We know Charli is a certified film buff, so it's hardly surprising that she approached making music for Wuthering Heights with a dedicated album.
The first track from the album is titled 'House', and was teased by the artist over on Instagram. Alongisde the snippet, Charli delved into the creative process for the work, writing, “After being so in the depths of my previous album [Brat], I was excited to escape into something entirely new, entirely opposite.”
She continued, “When I think of Wuthering Heights, I think of many things. I think of passion and pain. I think of the Moors, I think of the mud and the cold. I think of determination and grit.”
Then, after watching Todd Haynes' documentary about The Velvet Underground, she was inspired to reach out to John Cale to collaborate on the track.
“I feel so lucky to have been able to work with John on this song,” she wrote. “I’ve been so excited to share it with you all, sitting quietly in anticipation.”

Rumours of new music began over on X (formerly Twitter) on October 6, where Charli casually posted a video from the recording studio. The caption is a nonchalant "<3", and the music itself is a cacophony of string instruments, crescendoing until they pause in abrupt silence. You can listen for yourself here:

When will Charli xcx's new music be released?
'House' is set to drop on Monday, November 2025. Yes, that's several months before Wuthering Heights will hit cinemas (it's slated for release in February 2026 – on Valentine's Day, to be specific).
It's not clear when the full album (which will mark Charli's 7th studio album) will drop, but we'll keep you updated as we know more.
Charli is no stranger to film and television prokects
Although the cultural impact of Brat is practically immeasurable, Charli has also been busy lending her talents to the film and television industries. When she's not appearing on camera in projects like One Hundred Nights Of Hero, she's also been known to work behind the scenes, including as the music producer (and an executive producer) on Benito Skinner's hit comedy series Overcompensating.
