The ton is still reeling from the events of Bridgerton season four, and admittedly season five hasn't even hit our screens yet, but we can't help but turn our attention a little further to the future – to season six, to be exact.
When a show comes with this dedicated of a fan base, and we're left to ponder for quite some time between seasons (season four aired in early 2026, and season five is scheduled for release some time in 2027), it's only natural that we begin theorising.
From cast departures to plot twists, here's everything we know about Bridgerton season six.
What will season six be about?
First things first, here's what we're dealing with when it comes to the season six storyline. Netflix has yet to drop an official season synopsis, but they have confirmed that season six follows Eloise Bridgerton and her romance with Sir Phillip Crane. Per the books, the two begin a long distance romance via letter correspondence which, surprise surprise, quickly heats up.
Who will play Sir Phillip Crane?
This seems to be the most hotly-contested question within the Bridgerton fandom at the moment.
If you cast your mind back, you might recall that Sir Phillip has actually already made an (albeit brief) appearance on our screens, and was played by none other Scottish actor Chris Fulton.

Although the Bridgerton universe has been known to recast some roles (for example, Francesca Bridgerton was recast after the second season), many were hopeful that Fulton would resume the role come season six.
But a blind item posted by celebrity gossip page Deux Moi has turned that theory on its head. Specifically, the rumour says,"the actor who was supposed to play Eloise's romantic partner is participating in a new project and will make a big announcement next year."

Of course, fans of Fulton aren't taking this news lying down. On Reddit, some have been quick to highlight reasons that point to Fulton still being part of the franchise, including the actor saying he is "hopeful" he will return in season six, and posing for photos with fans holding the book.
Is there a season six release date?
In short, no. But there's also plenty of speculation here, following Netflix's confirmation that it would speed up the timeline for seasons five and six.
The dominant theory on Reddit (made by calculating previous production timelines) is that season five could be with us around June 2027, followed by season six in late 2028. Here's hoping.
