BLACKPINK just announced their first new album in three years

After three long years of waiting, BLACKPINK is finally back in full force. Yes, the global K-pop powerhouse has officially announced their third mini-album, DEADLINE, is on the way via Instagram, marking their first major group release since 2022’s BORN PINK. For BLINKs, this moment feels like the end of a very long countdown.

The past few years may have been quiet on the group front, but each member stayed busy with solo releases, fashion campaigns and global appearances. Now, all four stars are reuniting, and expectations couldn’t be higher. With DEADLINE, BLACKPINK is reclaiming their spot at the centre of the pop conversation.

For longtime fans and casual listeners alike, the release feels poised to set the tone for K-pop in 2026. If history is any indication, the group’s return will dominate charts, timelines and conversations worldwide, proving once again that when BLACKPINK moves, the industry moves with them. So, here's everything that's been confirmed so far...

What is the album called?

The mini album is titled DEADLINE, and according to YG Entertainment, the album and its accompanying music video are already finished.

While we currently don't have any indicators as to the sound of the new album, the label is promising a release that lives up to the group’s sky-high standards. In a statement, the agency thanked fans for their patience and said the project was created with the intention of delivering the “highest quality” music possible.

When will it be released?

DEADLINE is set to drop on 27 February 2026 – arriving immediately after BLACKPINK wraps up the final leg of their world tour in Hong Kong, and tying the new era directly to the group’s record-breaking run on stage.

The album also shares its name with the tour, hinting at a concept shaped by pressure, intensity and the unstoppable momentum that has defined BLACKPINK’s career so far.

What will the album visuals look like?

Visually, early teasers lean into the group’s signature colour palette, signalling that full-scale promotions are officially underway.
